When would you like to play BF2?

Hey guys,

We're gonna have a go at getting some good old fashion BFN BF2 sessions going on our own server. This time we'll have a local scoreboard - i.e. only points earned on the BFN server count towards your ranking here - prizes for certain things (top score, best flag capper, MVP, etc.). Hopefully we can get it going this time.

So what we'd like to know is when would you like to play BF2? At the moment it's just narrowing it down to day of the week, then we'll move on to preferred times. Please let us know what you think with the poll, and with any comments you'd like to add.

We have our own sever updated and everything? Well I am happy that we will get to play with each other (snicker). I have only played with a select few before.

Yep, it's running at the moment infact. The problem is that it's unranked - but I've been working to implement the BFN stats stuff (which will hopefully be ready soon) - so your kills, deaths, etc. are all tracked and put into a nice website.

Friday is party and drinking night so thats a no go. Gay sex tuesday is on..tuesday, and I never miss a session. So Tuesday is out for me. I guess Saturday is the only day.

I'd prefer a weekday, but I really doubt if I could make it even then. The only computer that will run it decent is at my dad's where I'm at like 2-3 days a week.

i'd love to play bf2 with you fools though.

mrhahn...I keep making promises to put up a 32/32 server..and I'm getting closer to realizing it. Would it not be better to have someone such as myself try and get a 32/32 server going that gets activity all the time 24/7? I'd ask permission to use the BFnation logo and a link here.

Then...hopefully...it would be so popular and active that any could check it and see it's full most of the time (hopefully). Then...all here would jump in and that way...not have to set up a particular time to join. It's in the works, I will make one in a month or so. I only hope it gains a general following of joiners.

While that would be awesome and I would spend my BF2 time there souly if it worked out that's some time away and I'd like some bfn bf2 action now. Mrhahn has set up the server and had it all ready we just have to set up a time to get on.

I've tried a good deal of UK servers and for the most part I can't tell the exprience appart from ones in the US.

Oh this could be fun. hahn showed me the rank page and it looks very nice.

Any day but i surpose midweek maybe better soo people that like to get wasted on weekends aint interupted in their very important activities.

Whatever server BFN has...whether it's one I plan on funding or one provided, it should have the backing and visibility it deserves when ppl click URL BFNation.

More than some minor static blurb on front page... or a mere forum "The Server."
Psuedo bells and whistles and fireworks going off. A psycodelic gif too.

That would be awesome, however I wouldn't want to put anyone out for the cost of the server. The one we have at the moment is free from my ISP (PlusNet), which unfortunately means it's UK-based.

The one you're considering, is it ranked or unranked? The benefit of an unranked server is that I can use a custom stats package - see www.bfnstats.net for an example (the code's not quite compatible with the latest BF2 version, and I intend to style it to look like BFN) - where we have our own BFN leaderboard, complete with medals et. al. That's not possible with ranked, because you're not allowed to modify server files, but the benefit with ranked is that people are more likely to fill up a ranked server twenty fo' seven.

Anything people can do for BFN, we'd be happy to back it up with promotions, contests, etc.
