Default Radio Noise

Can anyone tell me if there is a way to turn off the sounds from the Radio commands? I want to play this game loud, but all I hear is those annoying voices nonstop. I am sure there is more like me who is after the same thing.

those "annoying voices" are your team mates trying to communicate important things to you. This game was designed with team play in mind. If you don't want to play as a team, try single player.... or playing with someone on a 1v1 server...

I think we've located one of those "army of one" bastards who ignores orders and generally is a useless S.O.B. in the game. BAN HIM!

Believe it or not some of those useless bastards of an 'army of one' classification acctually are more helpful to the team than the useless squads who attack/defend the most useless flags. Tactically an army of one guy could provide more to their team than some squads do so ya shouldnt bring them down because they arnt in a squad.

communicating to a squad that you join or creating one so people can spawn on you if you are off capping a back flag is priceless. If you are not on a squad and trying to cap flags you aren't as helpful. Those guys that go for the back flags are often hugely important to winning (see Karkand) but if you haven't at least created a squad for people to join you to help cap it or to give another place to spawn if they want then you are being mostly useless... cause if it is just one person then he will get killed rather quickly by enemies defending that base or comeing to recap....

Im sorry but if im sneaking to a back flag i dont want any noobs spawning on me and attracting enemies and gettin me killed before the flag is capped. And just being squad leader so random people can spawn on you isnt teamwork, thats just promoting the lone wolf tactics you are so against.

First I am cappable of reading the commands as they come up and second I always use the mic. So having people talking and hearing the radio commands at the same time is annoying to me.

OMG I don't know what part of that statement is more wrong...

If your team is having trouble taking the "first" flag (at Karkand for example) and you get to the back flags, odds are someone has seen you (if no one else, than at least a good commander will spot you and point you out to their team or drop arty on you). Good team work will have multiple people there to attack it or defend it as you are capping it. A great squad leader may even hide while his troops take a flag in case they meet resistance or arty kills them so that they can respawn close by to continue to take it. In no way does that promote lone wolf tactics. And by the way, noob, these "random people" are your teammates and many of them know wtf they are doing and are an asset. I think you may just be used to nobody paying attention to you since you are off doing your own thing and refusing to work as a unit....

Besides most of the time u get a bunch of losers that just spam the commands. And I am not an (army of one), I don't see the point cuz I would rather fight in a grp and stay alive, then die every 5sec

Teamwork is just a word, not a given. There is bad teamwork too.

Often times when squad leaders are just spawning at the action, and your
team is losing, a so called lonewolf will cap a far flag.

It's up to squad leaders to pay attention to their mini map and recognize this.
Too many times, squad leaders go on oblivious that a key rear flag has been taken by a lonewolf.

I've gotten so fed up with dumb squad leaders lately. I'm usually that lonewolf that caps a vital far flag. I'll tell you another thing too, it isn't easy killing off 3 enemy there by yourself who know you're trying to cap it and they can respawn again while the flag SLOWLY changes. Try doing that alone successfully (when ppl bailed out on the way) before you diss expert lonewolves.

Talented smart lonewolves can be a godsend to a team. There are a few of us. I don't play as squad leader much, most of the time they will leave my squad as my tactics are unorthadox. I don't join a squad for the same reason.

JonFrey...I agree that squad leaders can camp in hidden area and let others spawn there to help team cap a flag. Very usefull tactic.
I don't go for the squad leader/member approach as the only way to win a map.

I am often a "army of one" guy just because no one else will do anything but camp at the first Karkand flag. I have played this map at least 250 times, and its always the same. On some teams the only way to win the map is by being the one that does everything. I often have scores double, of not triple, of the next highest person on our team, and this is while I am lagging at 300 latency. Every once in a while, you have to pull all the weight on your team, but it's a sign in itself, if your team cannot do anything, maybe you should switch teams to one that will do something.

Back on topic: If someone pays attention to the map and normal predicted troop movements, usually the radio commands will not be necessary to hear. You can read then afterall. Naxo, officially there should be an options in the audio menu that you can click on to get rid of the voice commands. I tried to get it to work, but failed and eventually learned the commands in every language. Give it a try, it might work for you.
