Okay, this is just my break down for those clueless about unlocks. None are UBER 1337 KILLZORS weapons, they only offer improvements/changes in strengths for the default class weapon. That being said, here is my point of view.
M95 (Sniper) - A slight improvement, not as accurate as the M24 but better than the MEC/PLA rifles. Can shoot through cockpit glass. As an upgrade, 6/10 G36C (Spec ops) - A definate improvement, more accurate and easier to aim than the default guns. 8/10 G3 (Assault) - A little tricky to master (no nade launcher, so you cant noob it up) but very powerful. Not really more accurate than the M16 but powerful. Takes about 2-3 shots to drop someone (chest/waist). 7/10 PKM (Support) - This will get you killed, everyone knows what it sounds like and it is very very powerful. You WILL be targeted. The up side: You can kill just about everyone. It has a lower ROF and that can be a problem with bunny hoppers. Watch out for that small magazine though. Now - 8/10 Jackhammer (Engy) - Not much more powerful than the originials. Hard to keep on target, only 7 shots? Huge reload time? No thanks... Extremely lethal in the right hands but otherwise, still not worth it. But, if you do spend 90% of your time staring holes into friendly vehicles with a wrench out, when Charlie comes, you can answer with this much faster than you could with the pump shotties. Definately more powerful than the Saiga (Sega shotgun heh) 6/10 L85 (Medic) - Everyone is complaining (whining) about this. Too bad. It's a good gun. Not an excellent gun. Not incredibly accurate and its semi weak but it has a scope... What other class gets a scope besides sniper? You're a medic anyways! Stay behind the beefy assault guys! 8/10 DAO-12 (AT) - A BIG BIG HUGE improvement! The lethality of this gun in close quarters is AMAZING. You'll wonder why you weren't just throwing rocks before you got this gun. If you EVER play AT, get this. However, you will need to watch out for its complete lack of any accuracy. But you already knew that didnt you? I mean, it IS a shotgun. Now - 9/10 And thats the break down. Don't flame me. These are rated as upgrades. They are not all REALLY good guns. They are better than their replacees. I made this post because everyone is complaining about the unlocks being crap but they are relatively awesome (usually) to the defaults. |

I don't want to flame i just want to say in my oppinion i feel the jackhammer is a 7/10 at least. More powerful than the DAO. i also feel it has less spread than the regular shotguns making it more of a focused attacked. I like it a lot

Although most probably wont agree with me, out of all the engy shotguns id choose either of the pump action shotguns over the rest. The power they have is really uncomparable at point blank compared to the others and the reload time isnt really long at all. But that is only after i have kinda gotten used to using the pistol as a secondary/almost primary weapon for moderate distance and backup.
And there is a reason why i have left the medic unlock as my last unlock, cause IMO it really sux against infantry and the medic class doesnt really have any antivehicle purpose so for my playstyle its really pointless to get. But that is just my playstyle.

M95 It's hardly worth getting unless you plan on camping an enemy base to plink pilots all the time. The worst upgrade IMO. 3/10
L85 I like it myself but I'd still only give it a 7/10. G36 I haven't used alot but it is better than the default. I'd give it a 9/10 DAO - 9/10 Jackhammer hard to control and small clip - 6/10 G3 again I haven't used it much and even with more power, it's debatable whether it's worth giving up on the gernade launcher. 8/10 PKM far superior to the default gun but still pretty inaccurate. 6/10

Oooooooooookay......
I guess I'll be updating this if I find out anything new about the guns. Also, the L85 takes practice and again, you are a medic, let the Assault ppl take all the grenades and bullets. And the Support class is very underrated. The main gun needs a LOT of skill to use effectively. |

Some of the weapons aren't really upgrades at all. I mean the DAO is great. It's powerful at close range. But with the unlock, you loose any chance at hitting anything at distance.
The G3 is a great gun. Its powerful and you gain a little more range. But this means you loose the grenade launcher. I know many of you hate the nade launcher because you call it a "no skill noob weapon", but it does what it is supposed to do. It kills infantry. I guess my point is that sometimes the gains from an unlock in SOME cases isn't worth the losses.

I agree... I've noticed that the slower rate of fire with the PKM is actually a problem when dealing with fast moving people or bunny hoppers. I tend to get more kills with more bullets fired and the knock down power matters less....

pshhhhhhhh. the nade launcher can pop humvee's in 1 shot, i've done it. Granted the humvee may have been weeker, but i still killed it. so yea, i love the g3, i don't mind not having the launcher. Its a close second the the spec ops up

A nade launcher attached to the G3 would be a killer.
After 5 months of using the default Assault gun nade launcher, I'm finally deadly accurate to enemy using it...short and long distances. I'm kinda addicted to it now, heh. However, using the default Assault gun rapid bullet fire has less killing power and accuracy than the unlocks (over distance) and even close up. You'd better make good head shots or an enemy unlock kills you first. What pisses me about some unlocks is it now encourages too many ppl to just lie on their bellies (or stand somewhere and shoot) rather than cap flags. That's the idea of the game...cap flags. P.S. The patch may have added protective armor to small jeeps, not sure. I now occasionally kill one with a launched nade, but can't tell yet if I hit a sweet spot or if the jeep had been damaged already. |

I have delivered a death blow with the nade launcher to jeeps as well. I'm not sure what its health was at the time? I have also blew smoking tanks up before too. I hit a smoking tank on a downward angle right into the top of the turret. Of course he must have only had a bar or 2 left. But I'll take it.

As far as i know it takes atleast two shots from grenade launcher to kill a fully repaired hmvee or any of the other transports in its class. Buggies on the other hand im not sure cause the entire crew will usually be taken out if the grenade launcher lands right, killing the enemies and leaving you a fast ride. It can be comical though to have the g3 and be in cq with someone who just uses the grenade launcher, gives me alot of time to play with before i kill him/he reloads.

I know. I die often in close up combat against more than one enemy during that period of reloading shell in assault gun.
I usually try and quickly switch to bullet fire or run away somewhere so I have time to load another nade shell. |
