And it is hard at times. Play a lot of defense. It is a number I don't really care for. You can be an awesome medic or engineer and have a shitty K/D ratio. Kills aren't everything my man ![]()

Here's a couple of tips. Note that these may result in a gameplay style that isn't necessarily helpful to your team, or even fun.
1) As mentioned above, play defense. Expect to be accused of "camping." 2) Play the anti-infantry focused kits. Meaning, play spec ops, assault, support. Avoid Antitank and Engineer. 3) Play conservatively. Join a squad, hang back. Finish off the enemy that your more forward squadmates flush out and wound. Play Medic so you can heal yourself as often as possible. 4) Hop in a vehicle whenever possible, and keep moving. (Stationary vehicles are SRAW bait). Bail out before it blows up. 5) Whenever you get wounded, or a vehicle you're in gets damaged, fall back and get healing/repairs. Resist the temptation to "fight to the death" every time you engage. Make use of supply crates. 6) Check your stats, find whatever class/vehicle you have the best K/D with, and whore that. If you're a good pilot, you're set. You can get a 10:1 or better ratio as a jet jock.7) Only engage when you have UAV overhead. This sort of falls under playing conservatively. I really don't think K/D matters that much. I have a 1.3 with sniper, 1.2 with spec ops, and 1.1 with support. I play mostly support, so my overall K/D is around 1.1 as well. Note that playing for a good K/D will probably reduce your overall score, since the scoring system rewards agressive play. Personally, I'm inclined to just play normally and let the KD fall where it may. |

The end goal should be a team win, not individual kill to death ratio.
I'm not convinced that having a kick ass k/d ratio automatically means you're a more skilled player or that you contribute more to a team win, rather just the oppisite, that you care more about individual statistics. That being said, I probably could improve my k/d ratio. I don't need tips tho. I need to stop charging forward often and dying to cap flags...do it with less deaths. |

0.93... I'm pretty happy with that since I play medic and support so much as support roles and a ton of those deaths were with me as a chopper pilot in a BH where I got mad assist points for positioning my gunners well for kills but didn't get in on the kills myself.... otherwise would be much better.... cool that you get a teamwork score for assisting a kill but it would be nice if you get a kill point to affect your ratio....
all in all, since the patch I really don't find myself caring about points since I got the unlocks I wanted..... all I care about is having fun with the game so it was kinda liberating that way... |

Well not to bash the vehicle guys but most of them that are any good at it have really good K
ratios. I personally just dont enjoy spending a full map or three inside of a plane or tank so more power to the people who do. The real important thing is if your having fun and getting out of the game what you want to get out of it. |

I got 0.64.....
Dam I suck. I play as Engeneer all the time so I get lots of kills with mines and thats a high risk low gain kind of thing but it helps the team a whole lot. I also started to use the light machine gun. I was one of first guys to use the bushes (on the streets, like little palm trees) as cover and now everyone uses them. It used to be I would hide behind one and shoot and no one would find me and I used to rack up so many kills. Now I get sniper out so often. Its probably because I almost always play on the "Work Horse" server and people catched on after a while. :/ http://bf2s.com/player/Soyuz/ |
