first of all, it depends on the map. Open space maps, yes, very much so. Like Karkland, just arty that entrance point and you got free kills. But like kubra, the middle part is where most poeple convene, and you can't hit them through the big ass damn there. Especially on 64 man maps, everyone is sooooo spread out. i may get 2 in a arty strike, maybe. there is just too much ground to cover. you have to get lucky in where a lot of people are at at 1 time, which is rare on large maps, and where people can hide from arty.

so in conclusion, you MUST play a lot of Karkland.

Soyuz...There are servers where commanders win lead medal...no doubt...95% of the time they don't.

Noone wins as Commander on any other than small obscure servers.

The big maps...Commander is usefull...this is a given, but not likely to finish in, or even near, at the top at maps end.

Don't play as Commander and complain.

I like playing commander its very rewarding if you are good at telling your team where to go, helping them out with supplies correctly.(example: putting supply crates next to tanks), droping artillery only on clusters of the enemy and guess where they will be, providing a constant UAV for the majority of your team for flag captures and defending. The greatest thing is when you've been commanding for a long battle and you come out with 85-95 points. your rewarded for hard work as a commander and doing your job well. It does take some skill to be a good commander.

Good commanders should be awarded more end game recognition.

This is true. As of now..they end up at the bottom of the bunch.

Thats weird I was getting medals 1/2 the time as commander...
I'll try again with the patch now

It just seems some people aren't really commited and the run aroud and are shooting people instead of keeping track of things in some little hole and repairing his weapons.

This topic went south fast! My point still stands that commanders SHOULD be punished in some way for arty TK's. I don't give a crap about all the discussion about points or medals.

It is your own fault if you get killed running or driving into an arty strike... that's a given! But when commander just starts dropping arty on friendlies, that is just stupid. That is my beef.

I have noticed a mild increase in commanders dropping arty on a base with friendlys. I dont think its that much of a problem though as the team still gets punished by losing the tickets of those guys dying, I think most people have forgotten about that.

I want my artie kills back....If that means tks then so be it. Crappy commanders that used to tk with artie should of been able to be kicked by the team. Now all the people that are actually willing to play commander lose points since artie is no longer counted as kills....

I am sad. (that's me being sad)

yeah, but the team looses tickets if the commander Tks his team on an artillery strike. So that effects his score also negatively in the long run of the round.
