Hardest basic badge to obtain?

I'm almost to 20,000 points and I only lack one basic badge to become 1st sergeant, which is the basic knife badge. For me this is the hardest badge to get and 1st sergeant requires that you have most all the basic badges. I have several veteran badges including veteran pistol, but It seems very difficult to get the knife badge. I have over 54 total knife kills, but never 7 in one round! I mean sneaking up on that many people in one round isn't that easy. Does anyone have any advice on getting this badge(techniques etc)? What's your or was your hardest basic badge to obtain?

I would imagine that 95% of those with the knife badge are stat/point farmers (at least at one time). There are way too many out there with veteran badges to jive with the realities of normal game play.

Yea knife badge is hard. I have not really actually tried to get it yet. I would imagine I would also get a few purple hearts trying for the stupid knife badge.

Dice just looked from a wrong point of view when creating the target score for knife badge. They looked at how many knife kills someone does in BF42, but it still didnt happen that much.

I mean, I got like 2 Knife kills in a round, and I'd assume that even 4 kills with a knife in a round are a no-can-do. So yeah, I agree with Monk: Everyone that has Basic or Veteran knife is a stat-padder.

I lack two basic badges. Basic Explosive and basic Knife. They are impossible to do.

I haven't actively tried to get any badges, but it seems you can get most of the basic ones WITHOUT modifying your gameplay, just by trying out the various classes and vehicles in the course of normal play.

That having been said, I don't have the knife or pistol badges yet, at ~6500 global score or so. I have about a dozen pistol kills and I think 6 or so knife kills. If I pull out my pistol, it's because something has gone wrong. (IE, out of main weapon ammo in the midst of a close quarters battle). The knife kills are from sneaking up on snipers every now and then. I don't see how anyone got the knife or pistol badge without expressly trying for it. Not that there's anything wrong with that, I suppose, but I'd be more inclined to just chew them up with my PKM

I don't have the ground defense badge either, because to me it seems hanging out in a fixed position TOW launcher for 5 minutes is just begging to be sniper fodder. On defense I just hang out near the launcher and hop in when a shot presents itself.

For knife yeah that is hard, but explosive you can use claymores and get easy kills just putting clamores around corners on karkand. (preferilly far from your team but close to enemy bases)

ordinance isn't that bad...i got it once...and then i was kicked for no apparent reason and lost it. just go to a map like gulf of oman (64) where u know tons of folks are gonna be jumpin in those transport choppers. just lay 3 or 4 c4 in there before take off, find urself a nice hiding spot (not hard to do in the large oman map) and wait for that chopper to take flight with 3 - 5 enemies in and...boom. (there's 4 out a 12 or whatever the requirement is). just keep repeatin it and use claymores and mines wise if u feel like it. i got mine by just usin c4.

man knife badge is hard..it tried a little today to get it...I used a kit I dont play much so it want ruin my AT, assault, and enginner K/D ratio. I managed to get maybe 4 before the round ended..its just so dang hard to sneak up on that many people.

I have them all, obtained from servers which didn't allow spawnkilling, (so no c4'ing choppers), and I resent you saying that all people who have them are padding.

Take a look at my stats, I've a hell of a lot of deaths from trying, and very few freebie points from the padding classes.

It took me a hell of a long time to obtain them and involved 2 purple hearts and hours of using nothing but a knife.

Yes they're hard, but not impossible, and definately the hardest 2 to obtain.

The overall hardest to get unless you're a team hopper is the one you need a 3-1 win ratio for, (can't remember what its called)

I really died Only 37 times in that round when I knifed 18 other players. I missed about 18 times really easy knife spot - just because started writing in Chat that "Knifing player" - before really knifed him/her.

I have tried that sneaking from behind thing but it only works with Commanders and snipers. What style I prefer is that with Medic or sniper class - light weight class, run behind fat boys and when get close enough - just Knife them.

Today I died too many times just because I tried to knife Protecta dude -- DAO -12 -- from front. Same Fellow where there with his Protecta - too many times. I think he killed me over 10 times and I took him only 4 or 5 times :/

And If you do not believe me - just watch your back.

This is my 1st post and you guys really gave me a lots of fun reading

Well resent all you want, but you need to work on your reading comprehension. I said that 95% were stat padders. Giving you the benefit of the doubt would put you into the other 5% so congratulations.

So, knife experts, what are some tips for getting the knife kills?

Yeah man, the map thats easiest to get these badges is with no doubt Strike at Karkand at those first points. Start knifing like crazy lol. Also the construction site at Sharqi Peninsula.

i got mine on kubra dam, in a building, 5 in a row, then 3 others somewhere else. then i started a new account ucz before that, i point farmed for medic, so i decided to restart playing fair. its easy in buildings. the trick is to not rush it, cuz its easy to miss when you're excited.
