Hardest basic badge to obtain? - Page 3

The hardest impossible badges for me are the basic pistol and knife badges, seeing as how I didn't achieve them prior to early patches and having achieved higher ranks afterwards.
Now...I can never acheive them. Some kinda ranking flaw that is well known.

The easiest way to obtain the basic pistol an knife badge is to run around for an entire round using only that weapon. It is best to do it on Sharqi, as it is a city map that allows you to get the jump on multiple enemies. If you are forced to only use the pistol or knife, than you will definatly achieve the required kills.

I'll try that. I already have the necessary number of knife kills and pistol kills already...no badges. Game flaw.

I also need 2 badges. Knifes and Ordinance.

I just played on a Knifes and pistol Only server but even there it is hard to get your knife badge. The Ordinance badge i wil get with normal game play becouse as someone sayed you can take a nice chopper and blow it up or a car with some people in it.

Anyone got a good tip to get the knife badge? I really need it.

Also..... When i played Knifes and pistols only i got about 50 kills with a pistol and 2 with a knife. But u didn't get my badge. (I needes 7 iar and 12 to get to 50 kills) How comes? It was a ranked server. Anyone know?

The only badges I wouldn't mind getting are expert repairs & ordnance. Specops and Engie are the primary kits I use & it'd be cool to have the two expert badges for each of the kits before I quit playing.

Oh, and the Air Combat Medal would be nice, too.

So I was enlightened to the fact that there are pistol & knife combo (only!) *ranked* servers available the other day.

While I already have my pistol badges and I think my knife, it was quite entertaining to play on a server based primarily on small arms combat.

Might be a way for some of you to achieve those medals before you make the jump to 2142.

I go on this knife only server as a special ops. Odd, they only play KARKAND! There they are, in the square, jabbing and jabbing! I run through tossing C4 then WHOOM send a few dozen STRAIGHT in the air. It's hiLARious! I still guffaw at the memory...then they kicked me! Can you believe that? Using boots on a knife only server?????

I played on one of these the other day and noticed a strange yet consistent phenomenon related to game theory, particularly reciprocity. Most people would enter the server and follow the rules, but every once in a while, a guy would come in and start using his grenades or rockets. With no admin each "cheating" action was recipricated to a greater degree; so we went from knifes and pistols to small arms to C4 to trucks/artillary to apcs/tanks. It was surprisingly predictable. Each infraction on the rules was returned with a greater infraction. It's worth trying out just to see how people react. It seems people really do break all the rules when there is no authority figure present

well you can see why p/k only servers are so popular, for some people its really difficult to get the knives IAR req.

Especially when people start cheating and using tanks against the knife guys

Any ever notice how random the knife kills seem when your standing up? Sometimes you have to be a foot away, others its like 3-5 feet for a kill. I think this may have something to do with the netcode though...

to be honnest i despise people like you. knifing isnt hard ive got my expert in no time. and there is servers called KNIFE/pistol rounds to help your "type" out
to stop you crying on good fourms like these

EDIT: i still think ordnance badge would be a struggle for the new comers

most probably it would be the ping on the server.

I found an easier way to gain a knife badge. It actually helped me become better with the knife. Now I usually have at least two or three knife kills per game because of the skill I gained. Here is what I did . . .
I logged into a knife and pistol only rated game. They often have a couple - especially on weekends. Then, I also programmed a button/key to choose weapon 1. Now I don't have to fumble for the "1" key.
Finally, I became a medic in this game and always went around reviving people. I gained basic medic and basic knife in one round. I know, now, next time we meet, you will kill me with your knife. Oh, by the way, I'm "Army Boots."

Does anyone know how to fix VOIP?
