Default BF2 teamplay lately on my fave servers

After sampling BF2142 Beta testing...I returned to my usual 64 player BF2 servers and now find that there seems to be a huge new influx of new BF2 players.

Most seem to be console kiddie players without a clue. One side usually just rapes the other for 12 maps in a row.

This has been happening for...like....3 days in a row.

I tried to coach our team a little...and...there were a few cool BF2 veterens on my team...but damn! It was kinda pitifull.

I think the BF2142 beta left a big void..in that...BF2142 beta testers (BF2 vets) aren't as interested in joining BF2 servers anymore and taking up the slack for 70% of 14 yr old clueless noobs. Now, one side usually just completely dominates the other side. I've noticed this change recently.

It may be a roll of the dice as to whose on what side to make it a match. For the last 5 days..it's been a pasting by one side on a lot of servers. 165-0....215-0 ... 123-0.

I've haven't seen such lopsided matches and such complete lack of teamplay and newbs since playing BF2.

Maybe just a slanted view on my part...probably a bad roll of the dice as to what talent is on what team lately.
I notice a BIG difference now in average overall end game win-loss scores. Complete blowouts 15 maps in a row. BF2 is no longer as enjoyable for me now on a lot of major 64 player servers. My rank...Captain.

Edit: lately...I've seen in game messages to all requestiong that some of one sides talented players switch over to the other side on the next map. Doesn't happen.

Jeebus, I hear that!

It seems to have gone downhill since the school summer holidays, I think you might be right about 2142 beta taking all the players with a clue.

It gets so frustrating being the only ones capping flags, only to find that all the flags you've just capped are now the enemy's again. So you hold back and defend, then before you know it the only flag your team have is the one you're defending.

Morons never bother with armour, they just leave it all for the enemy to use. But it's ok, an enemy in a tank is no match for their sniper rifle! Most of them love flying planes and choppers, well, I say fly, it's usually take off - crash, take off - crash, rinse and repeat.

I could go on for hours about how the standard of play has plummeted in BF, and usually do in TS. But there, I'm preaching to the choir.

I only hope that the kiddies, whoever these faceless morons are, stay with BF2 when all the decent dudes move onto 2142.

PS my son (who's 12) says I have to add, not all kids are clueless. Which is true, he's a great team player and a good all rounder. Seems he's the exception, though.

I have been somewhat noticing this as well in the Vanilla BF2 servers...

but not in any of the PoE2 servers. Most of the time PoE2 has both sides evenly matched and teamwork among squads is just unbelievable, I have never played it and a round be over in less than 15 minutes. I think that is where a large majority of the BF2 vets have headed since its such a nice change from vanilla BF2.

This has been happening on almost every server I have played on in for last few weeks/months. Most times the winning team will lose 30 tickets and the losing team, 300. This can get quite annoying when your the only one capturing flags and defending them, and I literally mean the only one. One round I had a noobie squadmate spawn 5 times as a sniper when a tank was present at a flag. He died everytime.

Lately, I have been averaging 5-7 flag captures a round. The problem is, if you stay to defend more than a minute 3 tanks will roll in, including your own armor (stolen by the enemy), and your chance of survival decreases drastically.

I have come up with a rule of play for vBF2 that seems to work itself out in the end. If you get shot in the back(by enemy or friendly) at a spawn 5-7 times, or if you die at least 5 times with medics within 3 yards of you but that will not revive you... then its time to switch teams. Yes I know it is cowardly to switch teams, but playing BF2 is about having fun-it is a game afterall. And when you get the purple heart as many times as I have (8 times), you realize that having smacktards on your team isn't fun, it's just frustrating. Especially when they are willing to tk you for planes, helos, and tanks...then it really gets frustrating. (I'd like to point out that they usually crash the vehicles they tk'd for within a minute, making the tk utterly useless and selfish.)

This is not to say that switching teams will solve all your problems, because both sides usually have equally bad players; it is just that the team you switched to usually has less smacktards and more teamplayers. Sometimes this difference is only 2-3 players in the entire team, but it makes a big difference for the fun factor. As long as you can find at least a squad of guys who try to play as a team, win or lose, you'll probably have some fun. This, though, is hard to find on many servers.

The other option of course is to go play POE2 with the veterans, which is a fun choice as well. Lately though, I have been hitting so much lag on the servers with my old computer system that it turns into a glitch fest instead of actual gameplay. For some reason, vBF2 will run much more smoothly than any of the mods, official or unofficial. Either way, the best thing I have found with any BF2 round is to play on a few consistent servers and find out who is good and will work as a team, then when you join, just look for their team/squad and enjoy the round knowing that they will work along side you trying to win the round.
