I thought unlocked guns were same for both sides

So...here I am w/ my first unlock I've been saving...not sure which gun to use it on. I'm playing Songhua Stalemate and am on Chinese side. Their SpOps gun sucks because the gun blocks the lower half of the screen. I realize that I play SpOps all the time and should just go ahead and unlock it. I leave the game and unlock SpOps gun and then rejoin the game expecting to see that beautiful red laser dot...and the Chinese SpOps is still the same gun.

Am I missing something here? Did I unlock the American SpOps gun w/out realizing that it didn't unlock the other armie's SpOps guns?

Does this have to do with the server setting about global unlocks set to 0 or 1?

the spec ops unlock, the G36C, has iron sites. "Blocks" as u called them. and ur unlocks are the same for both sides, if u unlock a gun, it doesnt matter what side your on, u can use that gun.

Well I unlocked the SpOps gun last night. Tonight (as it was last night) when I play Songhua Stalemate on American side my SpOps gun has laser sight and when I play on Chinese side it has iron sites.

OOOOOO.... wen ur in the weapon select screen, look to the top right of the weopons box, there should be arrows. click and u can cycle thru your specops unlocks.

Ya know...I'm not all that stupid...but how the heck was I supposed to see that little box with the up/down arrow beside it???

Not the first time I wish this game had an instruction manual.

Yeah...I usually find him pretty helpful. Must have missed his fatherly advice on this one.
