Default TAKING DOWN HELICOPTERS AND PLANES

Does anyone agree that either you have to be extremely lucky or you have to be extremely lucky....to take a plane down from the ground. The lock on missle is a joke. You can barely bring down a helicopter with these things. The funny thing is I've seen planes pinpoint kill infantry personnel with easy. This was'nt luck because I've seen this happen over and over. Where is the balance??? I've also hit a helicopter with 4 anti-armor missles, and was'nt able to kill the damn thing. Again where is the balance.I'm prior service, and if EA wants to know the real effects of some of these weapons, I'd be glad to help them out... Other than this little problem and the losers with no skillz that still cheat to gain points its a great game. What do you guys think?[/b]

Its a bitch and I wish we had Stinger kits so we wouldn't be sitting targets for the aircraft. Not saying superpower them or supertrack them but the static placement is a death trap.

Default Your right

Those placements are death traps, they need to make them a little more deadly.

.50 cals are great for choppers though. Team a few together.

What branch Terry? Myself USMC. and if ONE count it ONE AT4 hit a helo it would be over. Granted it might go staight threw the helo and detonat on the other side or inside but that would still take the helo out. BlackHawk down anyone? Hell a well placed shot or two with small arms can take helos down.

I've kind of gotten used to the aircraft in this game, still mobile (or more effective) AA would be good.

One thing, they seriously need to remove the blackhawk from Mashtuur City. If the thing is capping flags with a full loadout (mechanic included) it is hard enough to kill. Today, Two guys were flying it in circles around the flags at a somewhat higher altitude. Up against only antitank and 50cals, they were pretty much untouchable. Very annoying. The gunner racked up 100+ points just flying around, 0 deaths.

I still don't find it that hard as long as no other "friendlies" are nearby to have the missles attack. Choppers yes are much more easy to take down with the 50 cal or even the PKM if you got it.

Well ya gotta learn when to fire and when to not. Ya usually survive longer if you dont attract his attention so dont shoot at him when he can see you. I was hoping you already knew this but maybe not...

Default Anti Air

The best weapon to take down the helicopters is the FAV 12.7mm MG. Guys, just remember to keep concealed and wait for your moment. If you are anti armor try to use the anti armor weapon first then hop into the FAV, just keep the weapon to a 5 round burst or you will find it heating up and shutting down at a most disagreeable time. If you want to dedicate yourself as anti air and there are anti air vehicles, spawn as support so you can feed yourself missles when you run out. I have been having a lot of success on Operation Clean Sweep with the MEC anti air vehicle, just keep moving around so the F-15's have to spend time looking for you, hopefully you will have a competent pilot to take him down. Try to get your pilot to have him lead the enemy aircraft over your position, this worked well for me too.

A big part of the patch will be chopper adjustment, as far as I'm concerned.

IMO the only thing AA worthy is the Linebacker. I have had great luck at shooting down jets and helos with it.

And as mentioned above, the .50 cal does the trick on helos. If my team is getting raped bad by helos, I usually get pissed off enough to jump in a transport vehicle, find a good spot, and fire away!

I've taken down planes and helos with the machinegun on top of the tanks.

Short bursts, preview where the target wil be before shooting and soon enough they will be smoking.
