Finally got to 1000 points (yeah...yeah...I'm slow...wife and 2 kids and all)
I've been snooping around and keep hearing good things about the G36C. Is that a weapon unlock for just one class or once you unlock a weapon is it usable by multiple classes. How do you unlock? I'm assuming it's through the BFHQ but I'm afraid to snoop around in there now in case I unlock a gun when I'm just trying to check them out. Is it obvious you're about to unlock it or can you do it w/out realizing it as you browse your choices. Last question. Have you all been unlocking the weapon of the class you already like playing or have any of you unlocked the weapon of a class you didn't like playing to help you like a new/different class? I already like the Sp Ops weapon and am thinking why upgrade it when it already kicks ass. Maybe upgrade the medi or engineer weapons so I can be more team orientated and yet have better weapon. Thoughts? |

You choose a weapon unlock, and that weapon's only available to the class it was intended for. So if you unlock the G36C it can only be used when you're using the Assault class (I think it's Assault..I don't play that much).
When you login to the game a thing comes up offering you the unlock, and you click the one you want. It's really obvious, and you can't do it by mistake really. 99.9% of the time I play medic (only reason I play others is to bulk up my medals), so I unlocked the L85A1. I figured there's not much sense in unlocking a weapon I'm never, or rarely, gonna use. |

I use the G3, but I'd much rather have the G3AC. I also have the PKM unlock and that thing isn't worth a squat.
The G3 is good, but you have to use it sparingly. If you're facing more than one enemy, you're in trouble cause you have to reload all the time. As far as your kit unlock goes, EA's servers are buggy at keeping track of stats, so just wait a bit then restart your game. As soon as you do you'll hear that lovely award music, dat da, da, da, then have the choice of your kit unlock.

Yeah...I finally heard it at 1200 points. So now I just need to decide. I'm leaning toward the Sp. Ops gun.
Are there any spots that discuss each unlockable weapons...pros and cons? I know you can look at them at the in-game browser but the info there is rather limited. |

If you(or anyone) finds one, post a link,.. I think theres one stat on the weapon which -isn't- covered by the ingame browser, nor the strat guide:
Stability. The specops M4 and the unlock, G36C, both have identical stats, which would lead one(myself, anyways) to ask:'Whats the point'? Maybe its my imagination, but the G36C seems to 'rocknroll' less than the M4, and when you compare the designs, it would make sense. The G36C has a foregrip. Im thinking this is different than the basic 'accuracy' in the sense of controlability, the half-seconds it takes to bring the sight back on target after recoil... *Interested on other takes on it tho. Im used to GR, and RS, where 'recoverability' is a statistic covered in weapons loadouts.* |

In close combat, nothing will beat the DAO-12. That's the next gun I am going for.
Only reason I didn't get G36 is because Spec Ops has very little armor, and I died too much with it. Since I changed to primarily Assault, K-D has gotten a lot better.

Pretty new to BF2 and don't have much opinion on weapons, but I did find this link with some good info on weapons:
http://www.after-hourz.com/forum/ind...=0&#entry69028 One question on my gun. Currently playing support mostly, using the SAW. From prone position using the sight, I do decently. And since I am support, ammo not an issue. I have read mixed reviews on the PKM unlock. Here I find another person saying it is not worth it. Can you describe why you feel that way and some of how you use it? Thanks,

I unlocked the medics gun simply because I hated his original gun on the USMC side. The others are alright, but the unlock owns the hell out of the original with a fully automatic mode with 30 rounds in a clip. I'm glad I got it....because all I play is medic since I did.
