Default I am SO sick of Anti Tank guys using rockets like its quake.

I was playing Daquing Oilfield last night as a medic, and I came up on a group of enemy Anti Tank guys. I ran toward them but ducked behind a large steel beem to reload before I went to take them on. All 3 of them are holding their AT rockets and are pointing it at me. One fires at me and lands near me but doesn't hit. I look around corner and take him out. The other two try to flank me, both using their rocket as well. Coming from opposite directions I lit up the first one before he got his shot off and the other shot and missed as well. I turned around killed him as well. Those 3 guys could have probably had my ass if they would have used their SMGs. Why the hell do Anti Tank kids think this is Quake or Unreal Tournament with these things?

I guess they figure rockets have a large area of impact, so they can just shoot one off and get an easy kill. The reality is the AT rockets don't.

AT class is my favourite class.

Once you get the hang of it the At rocket is a very good antipersonal weapon. It just needs practise.

I generally use the rocket for long range shots (apart from every sort of vehicle obviously). Due to the "excellent" accuracy of every gun in the game, its usually quicker to just waste a rocket hitting some guy whose prone on a ridge some distance away rather than try to close the distance down.

Weirdly I've yet to see many people actually grow a brain and move while the rockets inbound.

Meh. Its all a tradeoff. It took me by surprise the first time I saw it, and yes, I thought 'Unreal Tournament' because the guy was bunnyhopping at the same time...
I cant begrudge anyone using a tactic the game allows. Ill question the coders foresight, or lack thereof, but that'll never lead to much, so, 'adapt-overcome'

It was probably me shooting at you lmao! But sadly the weapon that comes with the AT class is not acurate or powerful. Sometimes it's just easier to fire a rocket IMO. Kind of the same thing killing people with the defib as a medic don't you think

Hell some people where good enough with the rpgs or bazookas in dc or bf42 that they'd do the same.

I remember when I used to use the stinger in dc .5 or so to basically snipe people. Then they nerfed it :/

AT is my backup kit when I am not a Medic. It does actually take a bit of skill to hit infantry and the main gun you get with the kit is crap anyway!!

No different from the Assault 203 bunny hoppers. I'll take a AT Snipe before I have to deal with Bunny Hopping nade spammers.

Yea, worst part of the game right there. The 203 needs more friendly splash damage. Fuckers jump up right next to you and don't even take damage.

Actually, I use the AT rocket like Quake a lot, except I actually HIT people. Some of my finest moments in the game have been while I was AT sniping. The great things about it are 1) it's one shot 2) it kills enemies instead of critically wounding them. But yeah, I totally agree, they need some splash damage. There are so many times when I've been at knife range having a fight with an AT guy. I have a shotgun. He has the AT gun. He fires it and of course wins, without a spec of damage on himself.

They can always nerf it in a patch like PoE did with the stingers. Make them useless against people. But with the slow reload speed I do not think it is a problem. You can move out of the way and as Chinese if you have your AT out and see someone and you switch to your assault weapon you will die during the stupid animation.

So true...

I use AT class as my backup as well. I do snipe with the AT rocket, but only to take out snipers. It is actually more accurate and powerful then a sniper rifle on a shot-to-shot basis. The M203 really needs to be fixed though. Commonly I'll run into a squad of M203's chasing me, and even though it will 9 shots for them to kill me, they still kill me without any skill on their part. The best way to fight the M203's in small spaces is to run up close to the suckers. They either 1) get scared and pull out their knife or 2) fire one off killing both you and themselves. Your doomed anyway in a small space, so why not have him kill himself as well.

They can steer it. Usually you can't move fast enough to get out of the way.

Like someone else said, If its in the game people can use it. It does suck, but the programmers could get rid of it if they really wanted to. It was probably the only way they got kills though.... :P
