Default Do 64 player games work?

Every time I've joined a 64 player game, the game has been super laggy. I don't think it's me: I'm on a pretty fast machine (top of the line eight months ago: AMD 3500+, ATI X800, 1 gig of RAM). I have DSL and play on servers where my ping is low.

Everyone else on the servers I've tried complain, too, so I'm inclined to think it's the game itself. Is it just too demanding? Does ranked vs. unranked make a difference?

If you know of a 64 person server that works reliably with a full house, please share the address!

Just to be pedantic but the 3500 has never been top of the line. That honor lies with the FX series.

maybe they cram to many servers on one machine so it gets super laggy. i've played 64 players server and it works fine.

the 64 player games were terrible in 1.00, but it's much better now, altho I have still yet to see many EA official 64 player servers.

Can't say I've had problems, just the normal 2 mins at the start after joining a server where it lags abit, but after that it all irons itself out and smooth as a pane of glass

I've yet to play on a 64-player server where I didn't lag out from the start. So I'm still waiting on my first 64-player game.

I play almost exclusively on 64 player servers... It can take some digging to find a server with good ping, but when you do i think its way worth it.

Its all up to the server. 64 player server require so much more BW, and if they have too many servers outta the same location, you get the server lag.

Thanks for all the answers. Thanks to All Seeing Eye I'm having better luck finding 64 player servers that work. TrinityGames.net MoJo Dojo is good (70.86.24.26), also -=CCC=- FRATHOUSE RANKED BF2 (69.31.96.68).

My clan server [PF] Pathfinder Battalion 69.1.227.47:16567 always has low pings, and its 50 player, 25 on 25 is just as good as 32 on 32. Stop by sometime
