It seems like BF2 is two kinds of game: good and bad. The difference is whom you're playing with. How do I find good games?
I play 32 player ranked games, often on the EA official servers. Most of these games are bad games. People have joined squads but the squad members are totally ignoring each other. If there is a commander, he'll be OK at artillery and UAV but he isn't talking to the team. Basically no one is working together. I play terribly in these games myself and it's no fun. I've had a few good games. I find a squad where the team is working together, attacking and defending as a group with some voicecomm. The commander is calling out strategy. People are working together. I play much better in these games because I have something to do. Heal my guys, find a good sniper spot for defense, man the gun on the jeep. Needless to say it's a lot more fun. Particularly when the opposing team is just as clueful. How do I find good games? Finding a clan is the obvious answer, but honestly I'm not that great a player, I only have a couple hours a day to play, and finding a good clan seems really difficult. I had more good games in the demo. My current plan is to stop playing on the ranked servers on the hopes of stumbling into a group of people who play together without caring about stats. But that's awfully random. |

A good server with low ping that I play on is tacticalgamer servers (sry dont know IP). You have to be on a squad or you automatically get kicked.

Luck has its aspects. I have had about the same success. Basically, I only play on one or two servers now, because I know the normal players on the server and know how goood/bad they are. Team comms are always a mess...I have found three servers with comms, and we owned on all the games we used the comms. There's something to be said for communication on a battlefield.
For fellow pacific/eastern time players, Killem All Resistence server is decent for players and ping. If you ever see a guy named lBoBl Suicide Skippy, join his team/squad immediately. He's the only person I have ever seen to have consecutive scores above 130 for more than 6 rounds. He's even ranked rather high right now. The rest of the mess is up in the air about good servers and players, get in a community/clan, get to know the guys and hopefully have some good luck with the fighting. Communication within your team is key.

I've actually found good team work on a lot of servers including EA servers.
I always start a squad when I join a server and no it isn't locked. As people join, I ask if they have a mic. If I don't get a 'roger' or something back, they can stay for awhile but once my squad starts to get full, I kick the players with no mics in favor of those that have a mic. What a difference it makes when every one can talk to each other and coordinate within the squad. Quite often I pilot the Black Hawk. My K:D sucks big time but my over all points are huge. It's not uncommon for me to have 0:10 KD but have over 100 points from capping or assisting flags, medic and driver skill. That's where it's nice to have everyone talking, telling me where the enemy is and what direction I have to turn so they can kill them and conversely, I see things and turn and tell the appropriate gunner what I saw and where. Makes for some good team work.

Hi, You could try our server at www.deadmen.co.uk We're mostly a Counterstrike clan thats enjoying bf2 at the moment. We play tactical CS and are in the process of improving the team based gameplay on the bf2 server. Its sometimes passworded and you can get this by joining the forum (read the rules). Give it a go and i hope you have fun.
