There's a bar next to the weapon unlock icon for each kit that show how long it can sprint.

They truely are some great tips.

Is the sniper class really that bad? I find them usefull in providing cover when defending a flag, where the enemy has pilled in with apc's and tanks. Sitting a little way out from the target i'll pick off the tank & Jeep gunners (giving spec ops a good chance of planting c4).

It's pretty well known man, sorry.

I just haven't entered a tip for it because it wastes a lot of time that you could be capping points.

Whenever I play sniper I cap points. But I only play sniper to take care of other snipers, its like Enemy at the Gates.

So what happens if there's no enemy sniper at the point you want to cap? :P

I only become a sniper because there is an enemy sniper camping our base. After I kill him I move on the cap flags.

I do the same Naval; sniper duels are the best, especially when you miss and freak the other sniper out, making him franticly scan the horizen, and then picking him off when he turns to look behind him.

I think claymores are the best at the top of ladders of a sniper spot. The guy climbing the ladder doesn't notice the claymore warning until he has crested the top and been blown off the building/structure.

I do enjoy watching a sniper come all alone with a buggy into a fully protected flag hoping to somehow take out four support units with a one shot rifle. Though I am sure none of you guys would do that... :P

Claymores don't worry me, whenever I go up a ladder I always check to see if there is a claymore there. If there is then I get some private to climb over the top and clear it out.

Default Using Snipers

I play the Demo servers for now, and I see a lot of people charging about as snipers. I have to figure more organized players limit the amount of snipers to a reasonable handful.

Snipers are excellent for forward observation. Yes, due to the scope, but also since a good use for them is to attack enemy defensive positions, which generally become spawn points, they're normally better placed near the front, and can see deployments as they occur, giving advanced warning for defending targets they're after.

Sniper on sniper duels might be fun, but while you're trying to pick-off someone who's well concealed, you're also being pre-occupied with one target, you may, or may not hit, using up your ammo and not getting any "sitting duck kills". So, if you spot a sniper in a good position to attrite your own guys, I find it best to tell the squad leader and request a helo-airstrike against him.

This is why it's maybe not so good an idea to use a sniper as a squad leader. If you're busy tracking enemy movements from cover, you should be too busy to also watch the field and coordinate movements. Also, spawning at the top of a construction crane isn't that good of an idea, is it?

Other squad/army members should be advised a sniper can't watch his own rear, while watching the field from a promintory with a scope. Claymores come in handy to booby trap your "six" so anyone sneaking up behind you gets his legs blown off, and it alerts the sniper to "check six."

I set claymores at ladder heads so I don't have to keep worrying about someone coming up behind me on a building. When I want down, to move positions, I jump and parachute, but this also takes away the vantage point from other friendly snipers, but the added benny is enemy snipers won't be able to take that vantage point for themselves for free.

This stratgey means a lot of snipers aren't going to get high scores, although they'll contribute greatly to the success of the team. So, commanders might try to find a way to pass the duty around. It's a job that needs to be done, but why penalize someone who's especially good at it?

Default Lessons learned from Iraqis

While I was in Iraq I learned a good lesson about guerrilas. IED or improvised explosive devices. They take an explosive device and rig it to be used as a command detonated device like the C4 in BF2. They will hide these in piles of trash and so forth alongside roadways. Placing C4 on a rockpile or other "camouflaged" spot can do a real amount of damage. I prefer to set up all of my C4 in a herringbone on alternating sides of the road for a good distance then sit back and wait for a convoy or large group of troops to run by. It works EVERY time. It also helps to be a swuad leader in that kind of situation as your supply drop requests don't always go unnoticed.

But seeing as how most tanks and buggys and AA go barreling down these roads they rarely notice these traps and with well placed C$ in an area I have taken out a tank, buggy and APC all in one shot. It takes some waiting but it's relatively low risk and works extremely well.

I found whats good for cuntering that c4 trick is to drive my buggy into the base at full speed and get out just befor the flag zone and let the buggy role into the zone. if they dont make the mistake of blowing up the buggy with no one in it then i'll just go round the camp and pick off whoever is sitting round waiting to blow the mines.

Yeah, but the majority of people will keep to the road just because it's easier to do that and follow your map.

Depends on the class you play, the map, the terrain, the vehicle you are in, and about a thousand other things.

Give me a couple of specifics (like your favorite class and play style) and I'll see what I can recommend for you.
