It also has a secondary purpose of scaring people away from your flags :P I once had an enemy tank standing right outside the flag radius for quite awhile because he saw my C4s. I was on a rooftop watching him from a distance. It was kind of cool what he did, and it would have worked if my C4 were mines. He took a bradley that his friend had brought along and pushed it into the C4 with his tank, thinking it was mines. Then of course on of our tanks blew him up, but it was a clever idea.

but the chance of you getting your kit back is rare.. it dissapears pretty fast.. there are times where i just steal a medic kit and drops the medic pouches and go back to my spec.op kit.
but yea.. its hard to get your kit back unless you spawn close by to it. |

KNYTE, I don't know if you're going to detail squad builds but here's a good one I thought of. Medic (squad leader), Machine Gunner, Engineer, and 2 Snipers. :P Snipers are a bit weakened by the fact you get 2 freaking claymores! :/ They are amazing though.
Have your MG cover you with assistance from the Medic. They do their roles as intended - heal and cover fire/ammo. The 2 snipers mark off their area and fill it in (such as a large square in between the 3 forward outposts in the Gulf of Oman). The engineer sets up his mines infront of the claymore field. There's no sense in wasting claymores on a tank when you can get it as soon as it rolls into the killzone. Do this when no one is around and you can tell you're win is about to take a turn. Once you retreat to your outpost you could win by attrition if you have a strong defense. I imagine once they lose a vehicle or two and a few soldiers in there they'll try distancing the fight with artillery and Snipers...but you already have Snipers at the ready and destroying artillery is easy.

I also wanted to add a quick one about bridges. Its easier to just be an engineer and drive up to the bridge in your newly polished tank.
Wait for the enemy to laugh and point at the broken bridge, then just fire off a shell and keep driving. The bridge repairs normally at the point that you're about to fall over the edge which makes a lot of people generally start running off fairly quickly. |

Been really busy with work this week, sorry for the lack of updates. I'll be delivering a lot more content this weekend though.

My 2 cents on the use of snipers:
A> they suck beans cause of a lack of firepower and the fact that as soon as you get one shot on a target he starts rocket jumping like it was 1995 Quake Deathmatch. B> one place where I feel snipers are very useful is someplace high with a good field of view. Their job isnt to shoot stuff, its just to sight everything they possibly can, especially aircraft. I like to fly jets a lot but its a whole bunch easier to plan kills if someone is constantly on the lookout for enemy aircraft and calling them out.. seems like no one ever bothers to mark the enemy bombers on Gulf of Oman for example... that stupid bomber can slaughter you, but 2 F-35s can kill it fast *if* they can find it And its a whole lot easier to not get TKs in the bomber if the person calling the tanks is at a distance rather than about to get run over. |

Kashre, I too have discovered the best place is up on buildings. There is also a real use for claymores but it's so good I just can't tell anyone...really it's that good. I'm sure everyone will figure it out soon enough.

Good advice above. Come on soldiers you can do it.
About the Commander Commanders try to have some type of strategy before giving out orders. Don't give orders for squads to travel from one end of the map to the other; keep the distances short and simple for the squads. Keep distances within 200 m of the previous order. Allow a cover squad to assist in case needed. Prevent scattered units over the map, unless using guerrilla tactics. Maintain the front line as much as possible. See that the squads are up to strength and resupplied before giving new orders that can require losses. Commander Strategy Determine which map location(s) is vital to your operation and make that point(s) an objective. Tell the squads and units where the objective is. Aide the squads in reaching that objective location. Achieve one objective at a time. OK, to for BEL (behind enemy lines) probes/attack, but use it as an diversion for the main force to take an objective near the front line. About the Squad Leader The above applies to SL, but on a smaller level. When commander gives an order, divide up the distance into sub-distances (sub-goals) for your squad to reach. Over

SprintingThe Spec Ops and Sniper kits seem to have a longer sprint then the Engineer or Medic kits (the Assault would be the average I guess). Keep this in mind when attacking far flags. Medics also keep this in mind, you may be able to sprint to get the revivie, but you may not be able to get back to cover.
Squad LeaderYour number one priority as squad leader is to lead. So give orders to your men, like Swelego stated, and stay alive!!! Your men can spawn from your position, so stay alive long enough for them to be effective tools of your leadership. Survival also is a very attractive aspect for prospective squad members. People join your team when you stay alive and they leave when you die too much, so be an effective spawn point and use your added resources to help cap more flags. Flags grey faster when more men are in the vicinity. Kit Swapping/RevivingIf you see a wounded medic, grab his kit and revive him. It saves your team a ticket and if you were low on ammo, it gives you the added bonus of a new weapon with new ammo. Medics commonly never get to use their rifles, so why don't you? At least until you find another kit you would prefer more. GrenadesWhat can I say, use them. I have played way too many games where I see a sniper charge through a well defended alley, or corridor, thinking he'll snipe them all with his one shot rifle. Bullet-time is nice but it's in Max Payne, not BF2; so be smart and use your grenades to take out well fortified enemies. Grenades also have an added bonus of distraction against armored vehicles, so chuck a grenade behind the tank, he'll turn his turret and you can stroll up and plant that mine or C4 you've been itching to use since the match started. FuShe Pass Map Snipers like to hit in the smoke stacks, so be aware infantry. Blowing bridges can also be a very effective tactic on this map for defending your flags. The tank cannot get you if it cannot cross the river.
