Player amount confusion

Two quotes from the official BF 2 site. Maybe someone can explain...

The game supports 64 people, but it can be expanded to a 100 person server.

Like BF1942 only supported 32, but there were many 64 person games.

It could just be a mistake. Also, I think that Mav might be right. I saw a 70 player server on regular BF1942 once.

it would be awsome to have 100 people, it would suck for the commander though, dealing with 50 idiots

70 players? i don't believe that. its probably just a number. i don't believe u can have 70 players playing in one bf server.

They could have done some modding to the engine.

But wouldnt that require all 70 players to have the mod? (if its client side as well)

I'm positive. I was shocked to see it. Maybe it was just a number, but it couldn't hold 70 people. Idk, but I know what I saw.

Yeah, I've seen some wierd and unuseual things in BF1942. Before Pure servers came out, I'd go play 42 and see Iraqi soldiers with AK-47s running around in Battleaxe. It was a site to see.

are you sure you wernt playing DC on battleaxe? because DC runs battleaxe you know and sometimes after having a little drinkie the mind slips

There was a time once on the bfnation server where things went crazy. I cant remember if we had DC vehicles on a bf1942 map or DC soldiers on a bf1942 map, but it was all messed up.
