Lars Gustavsson mentioned a new game-play mode in an interview called "supply lines".
It supposed to make sure you have a clear front-line and can´t just bail out capping flags whereever you go. I wonder if it will be simply a modified "push" mode or if it will really have something to do with maintaining a "supply line".

you know what would be cool? if as a soldier advances he takes over land. So you have to move forwards and take land, kinda like if there were flags every few feet (expt ofcouse you would capture them imediatly or after like 2 seconds. But to take a piece of land your team has to have land that is next to it, so if you were dropped behind enemy lines you wouldn't be abile to take over land from behind. Ofcourse you might ask, were will the soldiers spawn, well you would have outposts like in BF42 , but to take one over you have to take all the land that surrounds it. And since people complain that vehiculs are having too larg or a role, you can make it so that only infantry can capture land (no tanks, jeeps, helos...)
Did I get my idea throu? I'm really not good at expesing myself... |

sounds kind of like those games where you can move one space at a time (civ 3) but i know what you mean, an active real time changing front line where on the map it would show blue land and red land, not a bad idea actually if like moloo said, it was done right

Get a good Basarah nights CTF server, almost Halo/Blood Gulch level of CTF fun. Vanilla CTF had alot more style tho. I remember hearing about an Nbrigade CTF match in which a guy with the flag jumped onto a moving single seater, and wingwalked to cap the flag. Now theres something you dont see in DC :/

Medinas Ridge was a simple Push style map !
That means you had to first capture flag A, then B, then C then D (or vice versa). And as long as A wasn´t captured, B would stay untakeable. Maybe it will be a similar system to UT 2004 where the bases need to be connected before you can take them. It would also make sense calling it "supply lines" then, because you would first have to make sure ou have a supply line stablished before you can cap the flag. |

Maybe that's what those destrutable bridges are for. Destroy a bridge and that would cut off your supple line and you'd lose a flag. Sheesh if that were the case, it would be nearly impossible to hold a flag point for any length of time....especially on pub servers.

I believe it will be a system similar to UT 2004 Onslaught mode. That means, you first cap flag A, that then allows flag B and C to be capped, and these then allow you to cap D E and F. It obviously works the other way round for the other team. |
