Default 5-6 SKILLED Pilots Needed To Make A Video

I'm looking for 5-6 Skilled pilots to make a cool BF1942 Flying video. 3-4 are needed for flying scenes and 1-2 people to be "cameras".

Basically the video will showcase flying skills. It will be a full length video, so it will probably take several nights worth of playing around to capture all the footage I need.

All the pilots and camera persons will be credited in the video.

The soundtrack of the Video is going to be "Dreams" by VanHalen. If you have ever seen this video you will understand. If not you can view a sample of it here http://www.van-halen.com/newsite/video/dreams.ram

How skilled do you have to be to qualify? I would say at a minimum:

1. Uses the KEYBOARD (the mouse just doesn't give smooth flying, even the developers agree).
2. Able to perform barrel rolls, loops, etc.
3. Knows the difference between the Rudder and Ailerons and makes use of both.
4. Able to effectively bomb a target (the video won't have much bombing though).
5. Ability to dive low but not crash
6. Ability to fly under the bridge
7. Ability to fly upside-down

You get the idea...I'm not talking about being a flying God, but several shots require flying in formation...and this requires skill with the controls and throttle. No doubt there will be lots of crashes during the production, but thats okay, I might include a 30 second out-takes video

I will be capturing the video via the TV-Out on my video card connected to another PC with a video capture board. This should provide high quality raw video which I will edit to create the final product, which will probally be .wmv to save space.

If you are interested, contact me via blaz3r@hotmail.com, or on ICQ 639343.

Depending on the number of people who respond, we may have to hold a tryout to make sure the skills are there. Anyone who can fly upside-down under the bridge is a shoe-in :-)

I will check back here periodically to see if there are any comments/questions.

Hah! I can fly upside down under the bridge... I'm a shoe-in... hehe

Anyways. I never tried flying in formation, but i'm willing to practice. I consider myself a skilled pilot. However, I use keyboard and the mouse, and I consider my flying smooth. Any chance you can watch me fly for a view? I make effective use of all controls of the planes, and am skilled in all avenues of flying, even doing water rescue pickup in a two seater plane I'm good at bombing, dive bombing(pulling up until the last moment), and all that other stuff.

I'll be sure to contact you, so we can talk further about this stuff.

Umm, where does the developers state that? I've heard that they recommend joystick, but never keyboard alone.
I too, just as the mighty Phrenzy , use mouse and keyboard, and I think it's a pretty darn good combination.

True, those fools all use the keyboard, ive seen it with my own eyes and couldnt believe it.

And btw., its some major bullshit that you cant fly smooth with the mouse, mosue is in fact much smoother than the keyboard. If you want proof, ill challenge any keyboardpilot to a 1 on 1 dogfight.

I use the mouse rather than keyboard as it gives you a lot better control

i think the mouse i much more handy then keyboard, it reacts more controlled. When i press the left arrow i always make a huge turn to the left but with mouse i can fly more precise. But i still don't understand what happens with my torpedo's? i never hear a blast when they impact on the ship. I fly as low as possible and trop the torpedo, i just see it falling into the water but i don't see it going further. What do i wrong?

Noithing virox, ive noticed that too. The torpedos just dont work yet for some reason. So the torpedo plane is really useless...

nope i found a way to drop the torpeado and make it go with out explodeing on impacts when droping it you have to get close to the ground and then drop it

Interresting, gonna try that right away. Probably its "realistic" because if you would drop the torpedo from too high the torpedo would go underwater (2nd world war technics... you never know...)

that's what i do fly as low as possible. but still it doesn't work. I aslo regret it that you don't get points when you sink the carrier or destroyer. Or do you get tickets instead of points? don't know will someone answer me if he knows.

Two things.
1. As far as the torpedo goes, I had troubles, but if you fly close to the water and drop it close enough so you barely can avoid the carrier, then you'll hear a nice *BOOM*
2. Sinking/Destroying the carrier is a part of a tactic in the game, you are doing it for your team and not for your personal score, so if you want your name to show at the scoreboard, I suggest you choose a different profession

Im an allright pilot :/ but i can't go under the bridge or fly really low very well ,so I don't think that you'll want me to join.besides,I don't want to wipe out in the movie .

I've tried all 3, mouse, keyboard, and joystick - and I'll take the mouse (in 3rd person view) any day.

Keyboard sucks, because it's not analog and is based off of how long you hold down the key.

Joystick sucks because there is little support in the game. Sure you can bind all the axis and buttons to it - but you can't control sensitivity etc (and it's just buggy, once I had my joystick axis set up everytime I tried to bind a button or key it automatically detected the joystick and put a joy axis in it.. heh)

Once you get used to it, the mouse is awesome - espsecially for bombing. It's a bit harder in first person/cockpit view - but in 3rd person it fits very well. (and honestly, dogfighting seems to be about 2% of your total time in air - the rest is bombing)
