Ranks and avatarinformation....

Im working on a ranksystem, and for now the avatars are disabled. Im still testing, but the ranks just 1 pixel away from the -mostly- bigger avatars looked really ugly....

I hope that itll be possible to have the avatar as some sort of personal picture later, so that its below the userinfo.

Well, ill figgle around with it in the next days, i think its gonna take some time until its completely finished, please be patient!

P.S. At the moment there are 4 ranks, you get a new rank every 50 posts. I think in the end it should be around 30 ranks. Some of them are going to be special rewards for communities work (like in the CE-BF forum, but you can increase that rank too)

What's the purpose of having a "rank" system? And how does one climb up the ladder of this newfangled rank system? If I do happen to increase in this rank system, are there any toys or surprises given? I like toys and surprises!!

And yeh, the general rank is ugly, but the problem is that i cant leave the stars without something around themm, that looks even more ugly. I guess im gonna search for another rank on the web that is like that one...

Those stars piss me off, i worked for like 3 hours to make them look "reasonable" at least in my eyes. Its just the poor quality of gifs... the borders of the gifs are too corny. Only jpegs can handle it smooht enough, but jpegs cant be transparent, so its kinda shit...

i can still edit the color, but i really cant get the look of the stars any better....

I'm not sure exactly how all this web stuff works, but if you like, I could create some 3 deminsional looking stars in Corel Draw, convert em' to jpeg and E-mail em' to ya. Just let me know the specs.( file size, type, etc...).

Sure, id be happy if anyone else would try. Just make sure that they look like the stars you can find on uniforms (no matter if modern or not, because the current ranks are modern ones anyways)
And make them in 256 colors, because i have to convert the jpeg to gif, in order to have the background transparent, but when you send me a 16 bit or 32 bit picure, it looks crappy after i converted it....
