I need some help finding a little info.... the other week i came across a great thread that had alot of information about what the settings all meant in the video.con file. Like level of detail and the settings you could change to make all the models high res at far away... does anyone know were i can find this info again? i had to reinstall the game so all my custon settings and tweaks were lost..... i know someone will help me out thanks

bump..... anyone???? someone must have seen a post on a nother forum that explains whats the best LOD "level of detail" settings. you know how bf reduces the polys of far away objects.. there is a way to get it not to do that cause i did it before.... the radeo 9700 can handle it

In the field of view con file. Setting "1" is standard. If you change it to 1.5, it will give you more of a wide angle view ( like a fish eyed view ). You will be able to see around yourself a little better, but at the cost of everything appearing warped. Any value set between 0 and 1 ( .85 ) will give you more of a telescopic view, like being zoomed in. I would personally suggest setting it to 1.2 or 1.4 which will give you more of the ability to "see out of the corner of your eye", but be careful not to overdue it because it can screw up the appearance, ie., when you are in a tank or apc, some of the materials will not show up or be missing like the roof if you're in an apc.
