Default Vehicle Thieves!!

I am sick of the vehicle stealing!!!
I can't tell you the times I have been left alone protecting the main base/airfield with a tank, or another vehicle with fire power, and as I am sitting in the turret seat someone comes along jumps in the drivers seat and takes off. I jump out to hold down the area then I get killed by an enemy, the base/airfield is lost.
Or I am trucking along in my fire power vehicle, stop to make repairs, then someone from my side takes the damaged vehicle while my wrench is in motion, drives a little way then gets blown up.
Maybe in the next generation of this game there will be a command center that will allow planning and penalties.

...when you get out the vehicle is for anyone to take--same as with planes

If I see someone just repairing a tank I will frequently jump in and wair for repairs, then they hop in and I drive... or they get pissed and walk away

...jk

If you don't want to get your tank taken bring it to a repair platform/hanger

If your repairing park well away from others. I usually land my plane on some remote hilltop in gazala like some pterasour. If your using the turret keep an eye out for any arrows on your map aproaching then jump in the drivers seat if they do. Same as artilery. If anyone comes near get in drivers seat, and just stay put. The other person will get bored and get out eventually. If they dont, drive up to a wall, and inform them that you have less to do in life than they do, and are willing to sit here all nite long.

I really learned my lesson on the tank.
There was no one around, so I got out to repair it. All of a sudden someone got in and started to drive off. I looked and it was the enemy. hehehe
Boy, was I looking like a fool. :/

Thats a good one woodburner. The other day same thing happened except I watched it happen to another guy and on our team and couldn't kill the enemy fast enough. They got a tiger. The best thing to do is check around first. Mostly if I see someone doing that I'll go see if they need healing then wait and hop on top.

Yeah, every now and then, Ill spot a teammate sneaking up on me while im in arty, and I always try and lead them on a 10 min wild goose chase when I do. go into f11 view, so you can watch them approach, and just when they come within view, drive off, etc. you would be surprised how long it takes some of them to catch on

I play mostly the Engineer because it's the most challenging role, but if I'm driving a tank with someone else in the gunners position ( other than a clan member ) I never get out to make repairs.
On the few occasions that I didn't catch anybody near me while repairing and they jump in and take off, I'll usually plop a few detpacks on top to teach them a lesson.
Maybe that's why most people don't use the Priest. It's a powerful weapon when used right, but as long as I've been playing bf 42 it never fails that when I'm firing rounds at the enemy, some moron always hops in and drives right up to the heat of battle.

This thread makes me despair for a variety of reasons.
- Bad in-game manners (Taking a tank off somebody repairing on the same team)
- The advocation of TKing (no justification whatsoever)

I'm relieved I'm not on the same servers as you guys.

I haven't had any of that happen for a while, I play on my ISPs server instead of the EA crap though.

One different take on the enemy stealing a tank, I always like it when you're too close to a tank for them to fire so while you're lobbing exppacks on they jump out. I've lost count of how many times I just jump in and blow them to pieces after that.

Kind of a they're dead either way but they always choose the give me a tank option.

I stole a tank from a clannie once in a match. The tank was very close to where tanks spawn in anyway and he was on the opposite side of the vehicle. I didn't even see him nor did I know I had stolen it until after the match. My clannie wasn't really upset with me because I was able to kick some enemy butt even tho the tank wasn't fully repaired when I accidently ripped it off. I've managed to steal a few enemy tanks while they have got out to repair and it has happened to me a couple times as well. Nothing worse than running back and forth fixing the tank and then all of a sudden the turret turns and you become human jelly on the battlefield. Hehe, one of those things that make you say "FUUUUUUUCK" LOL.

Just curious, where in my post above did I talk about tking??. I actually mentioned healing teammates. Guess you didn't read it well enough. LOL. Generalizing is a bad habit to get into.

I think he was referring to Pickle Puss's post about dropping a few ex-packs on the tank when it gets stolen by a team mate.

I know just giving him grief. LOL. Just lumped all of us together and generalized actions.

Yes that's how you prevent it, but it's just so inconsiderate that you'd hope anybody over the age of 10....scratch that, over the age of 13 would maybe have the respect for fellow gamers to NOT be that selfish.

"OOOO a tank! I WANT I WANT!!!! WAHHHHHH I WANT IT!!!!"

Sorry Sarge, I wasn't referring to you and thought you would have picked up on that (hence the reference to TKing and poor game manners)

Apologies for any confusion for a poorly phrased post.

Vehicle stealing sucks. Dice please implement a vehicle thief punishment system in the next patch, like when someone steals a teammate's vehicle he should die instantly and 30 secs added to his spawn time, and if they do it repeatedly they should be banned from using the vehicles.... forever.

I have done that a couple of times by accident.

I see a tank. The guy repairing the tank is on the other side, so I jump into the tank only to realize I just stole it. I will get out and try to find another one.

So this could be an accident from time to time. Although there are tards out there who will steal a tank or plane, or jeep just to get it. I guess it is the ol' "you snooze, ya loose" factor.
