OK, here's the deal. I've tried both single and multiplayer, and I have the same problem on both. My mouse seems to be doing fine, but my keyboard is acting strange. None of the keys work, with the exception of tab and alt when I want to minimize the game. I checked, and my keyboard is plugged in fine. The keyboard seems to be working fine with all my other programs. I do have the latest patch. Please help!
Another problem. After installing this game, I can't get click on anything in "programs" under the start menu. Please help! |

There are issues if you have a sound blaster card, they can cause the game to randomly crash. Another problem with high end PC's, is the power supply (psu). Some 3d-cards these days are power hungry, so you need at least 300w psu with some. Cards such as Radeon 9700 pro. need psu's of 500w for it not to crash. If you dont have a 300w psu, get one. If this is not your problem... dont ask me
Usually tho, insufficent psu's cause a complete freezing of the PC, no desktop. Just take it into consideration mayb. |

I had BF1942 installed with the Desert Combat mod. It would chop in single player. Pissed me off being a new Dell and all.
Anyways, here is my solution. When i restarted, I ctrl-alt-del and found that processes on startup were sucking up 190 megs of my 256 ram. I knew this was the problem. After searching and searching, I figured out which processes I could disable and on a restart I know have 120-130 megs free instead of 60 and BF1942 runs fine now. If you are wondering where to start : http://www.blkviper.com/WinXP/servicecfg.htm this site helped me the most. Then if you have any processes you are not sure of GOOGLE GOOGLE GOOGLE. Have FUN ason |

FIX TO CRASH TO DESKTOP DURING LOADING PROBLEM
- Remove all startup programs, that are non-essential (you can judge), except for ScanRegistry, Taskmonitor, System Tray, any antivirus software (you can be the judge), Explorer. To do this, go to: START => RUN => msconfig (type that in) Then go to the startup tab (the last one) and deselect the apps that you want. - Close all antivirus software while downloading and installing new patches and or reinstalling the game. Get patches here: http://www.eagames.com/official/batt...sp?state=01010 - Close all antivirus software when downloading and installing new drivers. BTW you must update you drivers to play new patched up versions of the game. Basic rule of thumb, new patch = new drivers. You might even need to get a new version of Direct X. Get the most recent ones. Here are the major places you can get them at: ATI cards: http://mirror.ati.com/support/driver.html NVIDIA cards: http://www.nvidia.com/content/drivers/drivers.asp DIRECT X: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/dir...ds/default.htm - Refresh rate fix: go to => [Drive letter] ...\BattleField1942\Mods\bf1942\Settings and change the videodefault.con file into a text file by changing the .con part to .txt. The last line in the text will be "renderer.allowAllRefreshRates 0" change it to "renderer.allowAllRefreshRates 1" if need too!- If all else fails you can change the first line in the videodefaul.con file from "renderer.setFullScreen 1" to "renderer.setFullScreen 0" which will give you a error message that you can read instead of just no messaged crash to desktop Hope this helps! DISCONNECTION FIX - The only thing I had to do to fix this for miself was getting a great program called "All seeing eye". Get it here: http://www.udpsoft.com/eye2/index.html Your welcome guys and happy gaming! If anything here needs more explaining you can post a message or pm me or something ok. |

hey, i have a 2600 AMD with 768 DDr and a 128 ddr geforce mx440 and 120 gb hdd. i run all settings full and single player is a treat, however onine sometimes it jolts and stutters a bit. vehicles mainly, when i view them from chase view, inside seems fine, i have 512 adsl. im thinking maybe i should create a different profile for net play with lower graphics settings, cos maybe its taking a bit longer to render the scenes in multi, but dont understand why it wudnt do it in single then? i get ok ping, so i dont think its lag. any suggestions?

using the microsoft ff wheel and pedals, having problems. I use the gas/brake pedal for the front/back motion of the soldiers, a.k.a, my 'dood'. Problem is, you hit the gas to go forward, and when you take foot off pedal, he starts going backwards. Or, dont do anything at all, is the other option i've found, and he goes frontwards!

I just did a reinstall on BF so that I could install the full patch of 1.45. Reinstalled the game and put my settings all back to what they were before and now my graphics and in-game text are all blocky even when I rark the res and textures up to full. I've turned off anti-aliasing and tried another reinstall of the game to no avail.
I have nvidia 45.23 drivers, DX 9b Geforce 3 ti200 Graphics were fine before I uninstalled/reinstalled any ideas? |
