The mighty nVidia corp. has began hosting 10 high speed servers for Battlefield 1942. The servers are using the latest technology to bring super high speed to Battlefield 1942 online gaming. Here is a little from their site:
NVIDIA nForce2 “The Ultimate Online Gaming Platform”; NVIDIA hosts 10 high-speed gaming servers for Electronic Arts’ online version of Battlefield 1942. Gamers logging into Battlefield 1942 for tour of duty can play on NVIDIA’s high-bandwidth, low-latency online gaming servers, configured the AMD Athlon XP +2600 processors, NVIDIA StreamThru networking technology and the award-winning ASUS A7N8X nForce2-based motherboard. I've played on some, their great. I didn't have to lead my shots that much. I pinged in the 20's ms. Most servers are FF off. They have kinda high starting tickets tho, and only one map per match instead of 3. Look for servers with prefix Nvidia.[/i] |

I usually play on these servers now after having discovered them a week ago. Some pretty good players too, for pickup games. Also, like the first post said, really low ping (I'm in Los Angeles). Plus they're usually 42 players or so, which is a nice improvement over the usual 24 or 32.
