This has prolly been asked but with the traffic in this forum I don't want to read through 27 pages of posts to find it. Is there a way to turn off the names of the players while in the game.. I dunno how many times I have spotted or been spotted in a good hidey hole just because as you slowly pan across the playing field a guys name pops up..... I would like to see camo actually count for something and taking off the names would be sweet... if this has been asked, sorry for being lazy but if not does any one have an answer??? Thanks Guys

well... server setting will override if it is higher, but I think you can set it in the cfg

You cant turn off your name no

that would be cheating.

You would have to join a server that was specifically set up to not have player names displayed.

I like it the way it is, shows you all team mates in your field of view, and enemys if you hold your crosshair on them for a fair while.

Dod has something kinda similar, realism servers.

FF, and no death mesages. This means if you see somone upstairs, throw a nade up, you have to go up and check if you killed him or not. Fucking scary ass to play like that, you dont know if you got them or not. Very rewarding though.

In the server config there is a time on how long you have to hold crosshair over someone before the name pops up. different slider for friendly and enemy.

Excedllent thanks guys... and no I am not trying to do it to cheat hehehe I run a server for my clan and I wanted to get them used to picking guys out by looking for them rather than relying on the names to pop up... I'll go look through the server commands and see what I can find.

Stalker you dont have the right to have that name the reason why they have names pop up in bf is to get campers like you killed any ways bf has huge maps and having names pop up make the fights fair if you want to camp play counter strike

Has nothing to do with camping... has to do with getting better at spotting people..... but I am sure if you had played the game at all you would know that :P
