The one thing that progrmr left out is that on our public server FF is off. Therefore the (apparently nameless) FAST member that was shooting progrmr was not doing anything but being annoying. And was more likely trying to get progrmr's attention. "Hey *bang* you" "switch teams" "Yes *bang* you"

Just wanted to make that one thing clear.

Let me make something clear as well. If folks come onto my server while we are having some sort of semi-organized clan practice and we ask you to switch sides and your response is to curse and swear and call people childish names, I won't give you a second chance. You'll just be banned, and I'll pass your IP address along to other server admins as well. I WILL give you a reason for asking you to switch sides, but you will do it or leave.

No MrMan...you have it backwards. I'm guessing that Progrmr was asked to move to make the teams even & he either refused, or started insulting right away.

We were just having a fun game & I see this kid joining & immediately start spewing anti-FAST remarks. Maybe he's jealous, maybe he's just your Joe Average doorblocking / TK'ing kiddie...I don't know.

I saw what I saw & reacted in an appropriate fashion.

Also, that was the first perm-ban I have ever laid down for BF1942.

It makes absolutely no sense for us to ban people from a public server - unless they are only there to cause problems & make all us normal gamers miserable. Once again, we do not cater to problem children.

I'd just like to say that FAST has always welcomed friendly respectful gamers on their server. We enjoy FUN games, not BS. All the members on our team try their best to assure that everyone has GG's..

And you will find yourself banned from even more servers. Good luck.

Sometimes we choose to team up and practice, so we ask people to switch teams. We'll generally post a few "switch teams non-FASTIES" messages and MOST people will comply, since it's our server and we're paying for the hardware and bandwidth, after all.

I have a feeling that you decided to cop an attitude and refused to comply with a kind request from an admin, and he refused to bow to you.

As Rex said we don't tolerate immaturity, and that includes the vulgarity you decided to start spewing on our server. Since our server is pretty much full every night, I don't think that losing you as a visitor is going to make much of a difference, but if you want to apologize in our Banned for Life forum someone may decide to un-ban you.

Well I'm no admin on these boards by any means, just a regular Joe Blow visitor, but it seems to me that the FAST lot seem to be a pretty reasonable bunch.

Perhaps a grovelling apology is in order

I was asked (indirectly) to make a few funny remarks about the acronym FAST. And I did.

Other than that, I'm staying out of it. Of course, if the FAST-ppl want me to think of some funny BFN-clan stuff, that can be arranged, just to prove that I really am completely neutral in this

Well I guess I'll put 2 more cents into this...

I have been in FAST for a while we have a code of conduct and I have only seen one FASTie break that code while playing and that person is no longer a FAST member. I have also come to believe that if you were banned from a FAST server you were given chances to clean up your act before the ban, meaning given more warnings than should be given.

When I see some flaming FAST like what progrmr said I know he/she did something deserving banning and just can’t stand the fact that he/she was banned.

Anyone that plays on a FAST server knows that we are there to have fun and not let other people ruin the fun for everyone.

Also all the FAST servers are full 99% of the time so FAST must be doing something right or we would not have the same people on the servers day in and day out.

And yes you can be let back on the server after an apology on the Banned for life topic on the FAST site as long as the admins really believe you are sorry. Then everything will be good

Default hmm...

Who we are:

FAST = Fleet AntiTerrorism Security Team
http://www.specialoperations.com/USMC/FAST/default.html
Our founder was a member of this USMC company. The FASTclan is diverse, containing yound and old, women and men of all races, but generally composed of military or ex-military, law enforcement, IT pros, game company execs, and more than a few students (but even our youngest members wouldn't post immature flames like some of the ones in this thread). We have 100+ members and have been in existence for more than 4 years, which is way before, and way after, many so-called clans have come and gone. We are a real clan, and that means family.

Our Sirvir Policy:
It costs a lot of money to run a game server on a high-speed line. Therefore we expect fairplay and cooperation from our guests.

ABUSIVE LANGUAGE: Not tolerated.
Well, using abusive language is always a bannable offense, so there's no argument there. Peeps must remember to keep their testosterone and their adrenaline under control at all times, especially when communicating. Keeping your wits about you will make you a better gamer, and I daresay a better person as well.

ADMIN REQUESTS: Guests are expected to to their best to comply.
Our BF1942 sirvir does not have team balancing on, so that friends can switch and play together if they wish. It's normally up to all of the guests to make sure the teams are even and switch when necessary. Sometimes an Admin has to step in and start asking people one-by-one to switch.

One point of order I'd like to make clear is that on our public BF1942 sirvirs, FF is always OFF! If Rex was shooting a teammate, it was not doing any damage and it was to get his attention; there's no way any FAST admin would TK anyone for admin purposes. FAST admins are not immature. We keep our servers clean and anyone who knows us knows that our servers are a great place to play and meet cool peeps.

Go here if you think you have been unjustly or accidentally (bf's admin commands suck) banned from any of our servers.

I can honestly say that FAST clan is a class act. I've been a member for over 3 years now and my 12 year old son is also a member. I would not let him associate with a bunch of foul-mouthed, inconsiderate, and disrespectful people if this was the case. You won't find a greater bunch of guys and gals that really enjoy gaming, fellowship, and comraderie. If someone feels they have been wronged, speak up and be heard in our forum as Shank stated earlier. Don't judge us by one persons word, come find out for yourself.

Progrmr, I'm sorry that you had such a bad experience to the point that you felt the need to post here, publicly, rather than perhaps visit our forums (the "BF 1942" section if you like) and post your complaint there. I also understand if you didn't know we even had a website to post a complaint on.

Let me tell you, I play on many different servers and, as a rule, do as I'm asked by the admins and if I don't like what I'm told, I leave. The simple motto of "our time, our money, our bandwidth, our rules" can seem rather a "jerk's" way of handling things, but as a group I'm sure (had you given us more time and some respect) you'd have realized we're very fair -- more so than most of our counterparts. And quite honestly, it is our "house". We just want to have a good time and keep things fair. I'm not sure why Rex asked you to switch -- maybe to get all FAST on one team or to even things up -- but I know I've asked my teammates in FAST to keep things (read: teams) even (a daunting task in BF 1942) to the point that I'm sure they're sick of hearing about it from me. And if Rex shot you, it would be to get your attention and no other reason; a minor detail considering FF is off.

We certainly won't curse at you. It's childish and a complete waste of time. We will, however, ask you to occasionally switch teams or cease doing something that isn't conducive to fair gameplay. We're not your random group of "kids" that got together and got a server; we're adults and don't take kindly to disrespect (nor should anybody; the internet and online gaming isn't a license to be disrespectful to others, but I digress). Bottom line is, come back and play again. You got mad, you blew your top, you cursed at my good friend Rex (who, btw, is as fine a human being as I've ever met). It happens. No skin of our backs. Again, hope to see you back at the server, or not. S'up to you.

I usually hit their server everytime I play and have had nothing but good games. Same goes for when the [VF] server is running BF 42. Good games and our admin puts up with nothing. We never ran into problems during the MP Demo release and when the final version gets installed on the server hopefully we can have some dedicated BF 42 nights.

For me |FAST| is in my favorites folder in ASE along with a few others.

Good Games,

CJ

Now that would've been the preferred method, yes Kassel? Everybody (you and I included) has to add their $.02.

Nice signature, btw.
