Multiplayer issue, connot connect.

Ok, here's the deal...
Reinstalled after a long hiatus of not playing.
Installed virgin BF, then 1.6 then 1.6.1B then DC, then final.
Ran fine no problems.
The very next morning, it no work.
After trying several times, I decide hell with it, uninstall everything, run reg cleaner. Restart comp, delete files, re-run reg cleaner, restart comp again.
Run reg cleaner a third time.
Begin reinstalling everything. Installs fine, go to multiplayer and no dice, no server update at all. Cannot see a single one.
I have done this three times now.
Now I am thinking of tossing this POS collection out the window...

Comp stats... (as I know it is not hardware related)
Ath 5K dual core
2 gig XMS 2
7600 gs with 512 on-board mem

XP Pro with very little installed as I just rebuilt the system.

If you're running something like Norton along with XP firewall, you should only be using the secondary firewall.

no firewall, or is turned off when playing. I had to get a cracked copy of all seeing eye and can connect fine through that.
