Battlefield 1942 v1.45 to v1.5 patch error

Ya, I finally got around to playing BF1942 again, and relize that I am really not update, with my 56k connection i have been updating all the way from v1.45 to v1.5 so far and going for the latest version in the end, however I ran into a small problem. After donwloading the v1.5 to v1.6 patch from the official Electronic Arts FTP I tried installing the patch, it gets throught the first time reading the package, then when it is unpacking the package, a error occurs. A popup comes up and says "The contents of this file cannot be unpacked. The executable you are attempting to run has been corrupted. Please obtain another copy of the file, verify its integrity, and try again." No then I don't feel like spending another 7 hours downloading this just to get this message again, so can someone please find a solution. There is no way it is corrupted because I got it from the official EA site, unless of course EA is hosting bad files.

20 bucks ea has a bad file go to some place like file planet or file shack

56k is going to take a long time to do anything, so I feel your pain. What you need to do is try to download the entire 1.6 patch, then grab the 1.61B hotfix. The 1.6 patch is bigger, but it prevents you from having to update for every patch created (which is not worth the time). I think there are a few other threads on BFNation regarding the 1.6 and 1.61 patchs already, so I'll let you look at those for more info. Corrupted files are annoying, but there a part of patches these days. Here is a list of the patches that you can grab here, last time I checked they worked fine:

You might look into getting at least the basic DSL. The price is about $2-5 more per month and the speed is about 5-10 times faster. Check around you area or google "DSL availability" to find some sites that will show you whats available in your area. At this stage in technology game, almost any DSL is better than dialup.

thats up to my parents, im 14

but i have had 2 other corrupted downloads of the v1.5 patch just before so u can see that im really not in the mood for waiting again....well they werent corrupted but the fles stopped downloading on like 93% after spending 3 days straigt on it>......OMG I WAS PISSED
