It's funny and true.

As for their references to EA, I hope it's an exaguration, because this game needs several fixes...

I just did. Pretty good take, especially on the AI, but do you really want to believe everything from a reviewer so DUMB he couldn't figure out how to get rid of the introduction movies? ;-)

The article has hit the nail on the head. Im sick of people just shooting their guns for no reason other than to do it. Or people using the multiplayer game as flight school. Thats why there is a single player game. I saw someone the other day on Midway map jump into a tank and immidiatly start firing randomly. This was inside of our own base. The idiot probobly was killing allies and not even knowing it. He was also giving away his position and drawing enemy artillary fire.

Bah I am tired of hearing people complain about the SP game. There is no SP game!! Was there an SP game in Tribes 2? NO! Practice, that's all it is. You will never see me complain that the AI sucks, I don't care! No singleplayer, no AI. Go play wolfenstein. Good AI, good singleplayer.

He was exactly right about the disconnecting for cd check.. that is friggin retarded. Think they will fix that? Hell no. It's not a bug it's a "feature" ...

I said it once, I'll say it again - the AI sucks. This article just backs that opinion up. Thank God I have broadband!
hehe.

I havent even tried the single player game yet. I like to play all games online.

Even great AI is still AI and will not act like person. Theres nothing like playing real people.

And isnt that review from that site where they make really nasty reviews as a joke, then post all the letters from fanboys who got fooled?

Ok maybe thats a different website.

No. Something Awful does just that. I think it's one of the funniest web sites that I have ever been to. Just play around and read some of the stuff that's there. I laugh out loud every time I go there.

I worked on a gamecompany recently. They had a product that was mainly a *mean* online game. I still play it and like it alot. There was some singleplayer elements, (offline) but it was against average bots. They chose to market the Single Player element as "Training" and the whole game as a pure online game and lay the resources there.

That was probably a mistake. Since there are *alot* of ppl out there who buy the games and don't have access to Internet at all. They never buy a game if it does not say "Single Player" on the box.

Our game was no major success, and probably not only because of the above. But it contributed.

BTW, If ya'all wan't something fresh with an infinite learning curve and you like to fly the planes in BF, Clusterball should appeal to you. And it's cheap too!

What I wanted so say was that EA didn't want to take the risk of loosing sales by not having a Single Player element. My guess is that they forced Dice to include it. But the meat of the game is not there so the quality of the Single Player element suffers.

So, we are still not ready for online-only. Maybe in 5 years?
