Hello, I recently dusted off my copy of Battlefield 1942 after not playing it for a while. I downloaded both patches (up to 1.61b), and got ready to kick ass. I turned down all the settings as low as they could go as my system is crappy. (See below). I click a sp map to make sure the game works before going mp, and a couple bars into the loading process the game crashes to desktop. So, I go in and even turn off sound, same thing. I pray to the Great Worm that this is only a sp problem and head online. Game connects to server but crashes while loading the map also. I did a system check on my RAM, and it came back no errors. Is this a video card problem (mine is an integrated 32mb no sure if it has t & l, but wouldn't it quit at 100% loading if it were a video problem? Thank you in advance for your help.
System Specs Windows XP AMD Athalon XP 1400 mhz 736 mb (DDR SDRAM) SiS 650_651_740 (32 mb)-(integrated graphics card) SiS 7012 Audio Device |

SiS chipsets are not supported. There is a workaround for it (I hope its still online). Check the BF1942 section at The Helper Forums - Battlefield Support

Wow,thanks Ant,that 3d analyze made it run.Unfortunatly, now the game will only run once(single, multi, even if I get a failure to connect and the like) and then if I change maps etc it crashes to desktop. Also, more than half the time in online I get a punkbuster error about a multiple file. I have updated. Thanks a lot to everyone who helped.

If you are crashing to desktop while doing multiplayer, you may need to update Punkbuster to the latest version. Use the pbweb.exe file, it appears to work the best.
