My Config: P4-1.8 - 256k L2 - 512MB - 80GB WD5400 - Creative SB Extigy - VisionTek GF4 ti4600 - Cable (1500/128) - WinXP Pro (no SP1) - Max DirectX video/sound acceleration, in-game sound set to auto-channel selection@44 and in-game video set to 800x600x32 Problems: Jerkiness leading to eventual crash Solution: New hardware profile disabling everything (devices and services), Latest nVidia Detonator, and most importantly - latest SB Extigy drivers and firmware Notes: The sound drivers ultimately made the biggest difference - However, creating the new hardware profile and booting into a clean system was also very effective - next steps are to try 1024x768x32 and also run disk defragmenter overnight |

Could you please provide the link to thelatest SB Extigy drivers and firmware as Iam only using the indowsxp drivers as the last driver I installed for Soundblaster was giving me problems I would get the error "devldr" and found out it was because of the latest driver I installed even though made for xp still not fully compatable.
I have not got any drivers since and have been using winxp's one as has been working fine. I first had lag dropped down video and graphic settings and it is heaps better. As there are known problems with Soundblaster EA are gong to bring out a patch but until then I would like to install this latest driver even though I have bought down te lag greatly, there is still a slight bit sometimes..... but as in the manual it says you have to expect lag in heavy combat ! |
