PLS HELP ME - EVERYTIME I TRY TO CONNECT TO A SERVER IT SAYS "DATA DIFFERS FROM SERVER"

Thanks for coming to BF Nation, legopc...we'll try to help you out.

First, please tunr off your caps lock...we hear you fine without them.

Second, please look at this thread. We need a bit more information to try and help.

Third, from doing a search on this forum for the term "Data differs from server", what I come up with is
a) are you the server version of the game matches your version? I.E., have you installed the latest patches?

b) do you have Punkbuster enabled? This may or may not help.


If these aren't the issues, you may be stuck with uninstalling and reinstalling. Make sure that you delete ALL the folders for BF42 from your root directory; uninstall leaves some stuff behind.

And I think, although I'm not certain, that you also want to make sure that all traces of BF42 are removed from your registry...however, I'm not exactly positive about this, and I'm not clear on the process.
