Making a Clan Tips

1. You should always have more than 1 founder
Having 2 people to recruit and play with is a big help. Remember that you can't create a 20 person clan and be a dictator, you must share some power.

2. You shouldn't give yourself grandoise titles in the beginning
Calling yourself "General," "Admiral," or "Grand Admiral" might make you feel special, but it causes the good players to leave because you insist on making them a Pvt meanwhile they kick your ass on the Battlefield

3. Wait a while before you create a clan
Creating a clan can be fun, but you must be ready to demonstrate to your noobs how to play. If your score is frequently 5-3-12, then you don't have any reason to start a clan.

4. Try to find some members in real life to give you a player base
You have to understand that without a few dedicated members at the beginning your clan will fall. You want a minimum of 3 people wearing the tag at the very beginning.

5. Don't set skill abilities that you can't meet
Nothing is more depressing than just barely getting into a clan even though you frequently devestate the leader.'

6. Don't ask for too much information
You don't need to know all that much stuff about the people you play with. Some people are deathly afriad of stalkers and don't want to give their first name, last name, city, and State.

7. Get a decent/good website up immediately!
Without a website you are nothing. I'm talking about at least a forum. If you don't have a website and no member base your clan shall fail.

8. Don't challenge, accept challenges, or join ladders until you're clan is well developed.
Many times clans go straight for glory in ladders and clan wars just to win, what they don't understand is that their skill level is nothing compared to the other team's skill level.


Recruiting a Clan Tips

1. Don't server jump
Don't go into one server, kill a few, cap a few, and yell "Join my clan at URL". It just doesn't work.

2. Get a clan server
If you have your own server get as many clan members as possible there. You eventually develop regs that will join your clan.

3. Keeping other clans out of the way
If you have your own server DO NOT ban anyone just because they are in another clan. If this happens you may have a decent sized clan but word will spread about what you did.

4. Talk with them on AIM, MSN, ICQ, or Yahoo!
If you can talk to them outside of the game you stand a better chance at creating a relationship with them that will help them decide to join your clan.

5. Don't be snobby
Don't go into a server, come out on top and say "I ownerz all you n00bs. I am 1337." Always help n00bs that ask for help.

6. Develop good relations with other clans
This can allow you to not only play in clan wars but cause any members that leave consider coming to you.


Finding a Clan to Join

1. Spend time with a clan before you join it
This isn't Romeo and Juliet, that means no rash decisions.

2. Don't concern yourself with what rank you get
If you're going to start out as a Pvt. but you love the clan, then it doesn't matter.

3. Don't join a clan with few members who have great ranks
Don't just join a clan because you'll get a rank. Don't join a clan w/ 3 members who's titles are: "General of the Army", "General of the Navy", and "General of the Air Force", or something to that extent.

4. Don't join a clan that is a dictatorship
If you join a clan that is lead by 1 person it is most likely going to be a terrible mess without any organization.

5. Don't join a clan where the founder(s) have grandoise titles, yet give you a miniscule title
This shows that they are power hungry. If they are "General", "Admiral", ect. and make you a "Private" when you are the 3rd or 4th member and one of the greatest fighters it means that they are power hungry.

6. Don't join a clan just because they win every match
This means that it is less likely that you will get to play in a clan war and you are just trying to better yourself in the eyes of others by boasting "I'm in a clan that has a record of '13-0' in Clan Wars".

a tip both for searchers and recruiters:
post your time zone (or your geographical position)
time zone may be a decisive factor
(cuz probably you wouldnt join a clan where you'll have to play at 5am or so, so you wanna know the average time of games before joining)

man starting a clan is a really hard thing to do!! i tried it thought it would be cool and fun. but working on the site, recrutment it was really hard. no time for fun make sure you know what your doin before you start a clan!

yes you REALLY dont want a dictatorship! my clan for SWGB on the mac was originally run by two, bobaFETT and DarthLotus(now mantis). our clan was [bounty hunters] or [BH] and boba set up a site that was very cool and very well organised. the rules are really only: you have the game. you have gameranger. you can pass the test. you are not an asshat.

the test is to see how good you are, against two realy good members. youi do not have to win; just prove you are not the worst player out there, or a dickface. all the members of our clan, especially bobaFETT and mantis are extremely nice, and they were very considerate and modest people, even with the fact that me and 4 others in the clanwould be owned by just one of them.

for us there is a ranking system: black(leader) green(lt.) red(soldier) blue(n00b)

i stayed with the clan for a while before joining it, and when i joined i was so good they promoted me to soldier straight off. woot. i am [BH] number 9(the order of peeps on the site is not quite right). now i am a lt., but still red. (red and green switched places) we were the first clan, and have owned many of the others, to the point of them disbanding. we have about 35-40 members. the problem is :bobaFETT is gone.he gave his comp to his SISTER. dammit. luckily we had darth lotus(mantis) and we have a leader still. unfortunately, we have no site at the moment. let me tell you, no let me show you, www.jerthetemp.com/bh is a very nice site. oh, and by the way, i am [BH] Lavarock™. th site has not been updated since january.(due to teh fact that bobaFETT has not been on since then)

our clan is still up and running, with four different icons that are not the ones on the site, (for security) but similar. it is the bantha skull. there are a couple clans now (we were the only one for a while, and just fought loners that teamed up) but we do NOT bash the other clans no matter how much they try to bash us, we just own them, as they point fingers at the new recruit and say how much our clan sucks.


lesson for today kids: know your clan before you join it. dont join dictatorships, becaus if the guy "dies" it will be controversy over who sthe ruler. well, we have no actual ruler, we have a leader, and that may not be concievable to some of you...

Hey vizior i dont agree with ur 6th rule about dont b snobby. i lamost always get on top or 2nd or 3rd on any server any game. having too many clan members in ur clan isnt always good. i think 15-20 shuld be max. other wise u might lose track of members' skill and end up with a bunch of n00bs in your clan. if anything, try to recruit people of about the same skill or better than u.

fragmeister thinks his clan is good and comes in like a troll that brags... ya? well i found that most forum troll that i played with just talk smack and actually sux b@llz and i dont think u or ur clan are an exception.

and medic ur absolutely wrong. i say have about 5 leaders just in case on of em fucks up and quits or somethign the other can keep it runnign and none of the leaders become abusive and are somewhat controlled by the other leaders. and dont just let the squads do it. that stupid cuz then the leaders (the good people) dotn get to play and once ur clan start losing, word spreads around that ur clan is really worth shit and i dont any clan wants that do they? a n00b isnt importnat. if anything, a n00b is what usually fucks up ur clan's game against other clans/people and makes ru clan look bad overall and get dissed evry once in a while. and DONT recruit n00bs. that the stupidest thing u cna do. unless ur planning to sit with them and babysit them on the aspects of the game for several hours each day i dont think u shuld do it. get ppl who are as good as you or better or if ur good, perhaps a little bit worse than u (a little bit ). if evryone is about the same in the clan then evryone get to have fun, rahter than shoving n00bs on ur clan and makign them feel bad that they dont get to play, or if u let them play and make them feel important u and ur higher ranking players who are better dont get to play and just watch ur clan get raped and then word spread that u guys are just a bunch of trash and not worth playign with (and if u made the challenge and lost becuz of ur n00bs, less clans will b allowing u to challenge them becuz ur so bad ur not even worth talkign about. ur not much of a clan with n00bs on it. if u have n00bs in ur clan all u are is a bunch of worthless names with worthless tags next to em rather than a unified force to be reconed with on the battle field. n00bs dont need clans. if they want to have fun with ppl they know then jsut play with those ppl, not act as a clan. or form servers and and get together BF societies specifically for n00bs. making a clan full of n00bs and ppl ur feel sorry for cuz they dotn think they are importnat is not a clan. it a charity providing care for n00bs. lol.

yes i was a n00b once. wuts ur point? i got bashed on too and i didnt think it was unfair and that i was worth a lot and that i deserved a clan. i at least knew i had to get good and when i did, i went back to some people that made fun of me in the very beggining and wh00ped tehir n00bish asses. i at least kept my n00bish emotions to myself.

no point of giving them a chance and then giving the enemy a chance to make fun of ur clan. no point of ur clan getting raped rather than u gettting out on top and scr3wing evryone over. ur acting like n00bs are cute little puppies that need care. to tell the truth they are just ppl that need to get better and that isnt a reason to b nice to them. i never was and never will be. all n00bs will die. and how u define more fun in a clan thats made up of n00bs and loses all the time. the n00bs prolly wuldnt have fun unless they are so new that when they get a kill they're all "o wow this is a really good game". clans are for fighting each other and attempting to become the best, nothign else. u cant have fun when ur clan gets raped cuz u were nice to some lowlife beggar scum in BF and let em go into ur clan. get a charity server for that instead n00b while us l33ts reign.
