Default Do you still play Battlefield ?

What triggered this poll was Caslon posting about some anoying Battlefield 1942 "features".

Well, Battlefield 1942 is just long gone for me. Its been over 8 months now since I last played good old vanilla.
Nowadays I just play Forgotten Hope reguarly and other Mods more casuly (atm: GC 0.42).

What about you ? Do you still play BF 1942 ? Maybe you dont even play any Mods and have moved on ?
Or are you attracted to BFV ?

bf42 is still t3h rocks!
Really man, you ought to play it again - and if its just for the sake of playing BF! Perhaps try another gamemode other than Conquest!
I can promise you CTF is a blast - there aren't many CTF servers but it still rocks!

I play whatever I can; unfortunately, school is leaving little time for gaming atm.
But yeah, I still enjoy a game of Vanilla; Meph got me somewhat into playing CTF on the [MA] server, and that was a change of pace.
Like Dick though, I really prefer the mods atm; FH and BG42 are really enjoyable for me.

If you haven't played it for a while, try it. It can be a real blast. It will never be like playing it for the first time, obviously, but like Spy says, it rocks.

Vanilla all the way. I've never tried any of the mods for it because quite frankly, I am very happy with vanilla and not interested in them. Too bad RtR and SW were such duds (IMO). No intrest in BFV either.

Well I played the BFV: WW2 Mod and it really didn´t make want to return to vanilla.

And after all FH isn´t all that different from BF. Just theres way more to it...

I cant play it anymore. FH has broken classic for me.

I slam the shit out of my keyboard when a rifle takes 4 shots to kill a man. Tank MGs also take about 5 headshots to kill somone. The tank arcs are pathetic. I only play classic because there is only 1 FH server in the entire southern hemisphere, an its not full all the time.

Hopefully it will be revitalised this friday. However, battlefield in general will take a big hit when hl2 comes out.

We'll see about that. We need to organize a game on the forums. Finally you will all see how much I suck.

I give BF a whirl occasionally, but i find myself crashing to desktop and i dont really feel like reinstalling right now :/

Still fun to play and realize that i still possess my tanking skills back from the heydays.

it takes at max 3 shots to kill someone with a rifle, and that is if you hit their foot, most commonly 2. 1 if you actually know how to use a rifle.

Anyways, I just play BG42 these days, FH seems too newbieish with the 1s1k thing they have going on with infantry combat (haven't tried 0.65 yet though, maybe they changed it).

BF isn't bad, it's just the warcraft 2 of the FPS games.
