Now that EA got all they wanted... and now that people aren't buying the game, why don't they make a blood and gore patch ? they can rip it off another game with the Red factor engin. Would this be illegal (because of the ESRB rating thingy)?
Also, y don't people make mods for demos? since they have all the basics and "tools" of the game |

I could make fun of this post in many ways, however I feel like being nice (I just got some good pron). First off why EA will not release a blood and gore patch, as stated by the DICE guys on IRC, is due to the german censorship with blood in games. Not to mention, they already added as much blood as they legally can. There have been blood mods and such, but why would EA add something to a game they no longer support when they have BFV and BF2? The REFRACTOR 2 engine was made just for BF42, ithey couldnt go and rip code off some other WW2 game. Secondly the original wake demo (and to the lesser extent. SWOWW2 demo), are based on wayyyyy outdated patches. They only contain textures and buildings neccessary to that map. So all the base textures, and models DC uses wont be availible in the demo, and is less than legal to include them in a package. If an original mod were made just for the demo, with tons of time put into making original base parts, it could be done, but in the end it wouldnt be as good

Now the system has changed. There is hardly any censoring anymore. Games will simply get an age rating that forbids the game to be sold to any youger people. DOOM III got the age rating 18 so it was only alowed to be sold to people aged 18 or older. Games can still be censored though for showing Nazi symbols for example or for explicit violence. Shellschock NAM 67 has been censored meening its not alowed to be advertised or publicly displayed, but its still legal to sell it to over 18 years olds.

The game censorship is sick. The whole GTA series isnt censored because its comical violence or something.
But Unreal Tournament (yes UT 1) was forbidden last year. After years someone noticed its a game where you shoot at people to kill them. |

Infact the US, or international version of GTA was censored.
But they released a german version of the game that took out all the blood and gore effects, that were rather sick, I must admit. In RtCW the international version was censored because of gore and Nazi-Symbols. They got around the censoring by replacing the Nazis with "Heinrich Höllers Clan der Wölfe" and taking out most of the blood effects.
