my friend has 2 computer at his house and for some reason whenever we play battlefield 1942 Desert Combat in the middle of any game that we join it will say "Warning, Connection Problems Detected" and then kick us to the main menu. is there anything we can do about this because it really gets annoying trying to play and always getting thrown out. and it never use to do this..

ok i think i know exactly whats the problem. This has happened to me before and i've fixed it so i never get disconnected again. Ok, i'm assuming your friend has a Router and the router is firewalled or Windows xp firewall. All you need to do is open the battlefield/GameSpy TCP/UDP ports which either in the router configuration or the windows xp firewall settings. The ports are found in your Battlefield manuel book. Well here's the ports to open:
23000, 28900, and 27900 - for gamespy internet 22000 - for gamespy lan 14567 - for battlefield 1942 Secret Wepons ports: UDP range 14567-14570 UDP range 23000 23009 UDP port 27900 TCP port 28900 i cannot give a detailed instruction of how to open the ports for your router because every router is configured differnetly. goto the router manufacturer website and look in forums or FAQs to learn how to op[en ports. good luck. post if you still have a problem or your lost. ![]() |
