Default BF42 & BFV?

Hello all, I have been away for some time, and now that I am back I keep reading about BF being dead, or dropping to the background. Whats the story. Are people really starting to get bored with this game.

BF1942 was awesome, because of that, many people like me thought that bfv is gona be better in many areas. but after bfv came out, lots of people were disappointed by the game. lots of bugs, weapon balance and blah blah blah. just that theres too many problems with this game. many the future patches would make a difference.

Well I can partially agree with what Taiwan said.

But BF 1942 is nearly two years old and I havn´t actually played vanilla BF for ages now. I still play a lot of BF 1942 Mods like FH and BF: Pirates.
I think BFV will be more fun once we see some decent Mods released for it. I´m not sure what exactly is wrong with BFV, but I can only play it for about an hour before I get boored...

But if you look at the statistics you´ll still find loads of people playing BF 1942. In Europe you even have more people playing BF 1942 than DC.

thanx. I was starting to think that my favorite game of all time was dying. I do agree with you about Vietnam. I get boored too. I think it is a combination of not enough vehicles, too big maps, and the planes are cool but they lose something in the dogfights. Some of the maps in the game are huge where it could take you the whole battle to walk from one end to the other. At the same time, these same maps have very little vehicles to use.

I once again went back and played a few nights of vanilla BF after playing pretty much BFV since it came out. First I don't see any serious decline in users playing the game. There are ussually 5000-7000 people online playing BF. Second, even though I still enjoy playing vanilla BF, I have to say I "appriciate" BFV a bit more every time I go back and forth. For one thing the hit model in BFV is just A LOT BETTER. When I kill someone in BFV I feel like "yeah I hit that guy good". When I don't I feel I missed and that was that. In BF I often PLASTER someone repeatidly and they still walk away (and ussually I am dead). Or I fire an anti-tank round right at their feet and they live. Or I shoot them point blank in the head and they live. Or...well you get the idea. In BFV if you shoot someone critically they die. I think this may be why people were always complaining about cheaters on BF. I don't see the same thing going on with BFV.

Also I think the dogfighting and arial aspects are a lot better on BFV. I enjoy flying Mig17's and F4's. When I fly in BF I feel like I am about to fall out of the sky at any second. And I really hate the bomb deployment on BF.

That was my 3.5 cents.

Meh, I like BF:V. Ever since the M60 was fixed, I find the game better to paly. PB is still a bitch sometimes, and kicks for random reasons, but nothing that would make me toss the game out the window.

As for 42, well, I played that game to death. Played it since the leaked Tobruk demo, and the SP version of Wake Island, and I don't think I can take ti anymore. It's been atleast a few months since I've fired up vanilla.
