Default cd key error (I've had many times) AND can't uninstall!

Every now and then I get the cd key error message. Now, most of the time I cannot get rid of it by the temp int files and history solution, but somehow by luck...I try to enter a server a few times and it works. Now I have the message again.
To solve the error I can't even uninstall BF! It isn't on the Add/remove programs list, and clicking the uninstall button doesn't do anything. BUT THAT'S WEIRD, I have not uninstalled it (it works fine besides the cd key thing with multiplayer) so why isn't it able to be uninstalled? I need to know that and how to fix my cd key if I can't uninstall.

(And how can I delete all the BF folder stuff... I don't wanna delete Remote Mgr if I don't have to.)

Must be because you don't have a legit store bought copy?

Good reply, bozo...THAT really helps out a lot!

Let's see - I'll take you by the hand and walk you through it.

1) Go to Start/settings/add and remove programs.
2) click on "Battlefield 1942"; click modify remove.
3) Once the program is gone, get a good registry editor like RegCleaner, and make sure ALL traces are removed from your computer.

Barring that, fuckstain, delete the BF 42 folder, use a good registry editor to clean your registry, and GO TO A FORUM THAT APPRECIATES WASTES OF SPERM LIKE YOU!!!!!

Just curious - what kind of response did you expect, chokesondick? You took the time, as a GUEST, no less, to come and post shit here...how much time did you spend looking through ALL the threads? None? Gosh, I'm shocked.

And if you TRULY don't know how to uninstall a program, take your fucking PC and throw it in the nearest garbage can - because you're obviously too fucking stupid to own such a "complicated" piece of equipment. Better you stick to dull objects and the Television - things that don't tax your single fucking brain cell!

We don't OWE you SHIT, asswipe...go the fuck away!

i have had the CD key error twice now, its starting to annoy me. But everytime i have had to uninstall it and reinstall it and it has worked fine. i find the clearing my history and temp files doesn't work. If u do have a legit copy it should be in the reg :/ , so there must be something wrong with your CD or something.

I have this same damn problem. I only have a 20 gig drive and after installing bfv. It was full. I decided to remove BF1942 and warcraft3 to clear some space. Purchased Ut2k4 it needed alot of room 5.5 gigs to be exact. I needed to reshuffle the drive again. This time I was going to unistall BFV and put it on my other cpu. The damn thing will not unistall. It says the add/remove.exe is gone. I tried to reinstall it and all it did was suck up more space. Still could not remove. I have tried using the eafolder unistall. Still no luck. So wtf, I'm not allowed to remove a Battle field game from my cpu?

Stupid nubs read the stickies before you post

http://forums.bfgaming.com/viewtopic.php?t=10168

even if you dont think its Relevent post them anyways.

I also know that if you had the leaked version installed, the uninstall didn't work properly so you need to go through the registry and manually take out anything pertaining to BFV.

I have a somewhat similar problem. I bought a bargain (leaked) copy of BF 1942, installed and ran it with no problems. Liked the game, so I followed up by buying a legit copy at about 3 times the price of the chinese one.

I've had nothing but shit ever since. The thing won't uninstall properly (yes, I did clean out the previous install thoroughly), and it flatly refuses to allow certain folders to be deleted. So I reinstalled XP, which solved the problem, albeit rather drastically. The 1.6 patch worked the first time I installed it ... and never again. And, guess what? The son-of-a-bitch-born-bastard game wouldn't uninstall again.

Finally got it cleaned out - and am now happily playing with the chinese copy - which gives no problems.

Dipshit coders ...
