Default How to Vote

This should maybe made sticky cause I am gonna try and make it as easy as possible for anyone to vote a tk'er off.

hit tab while in game and look at # beside the persons name. Now hit the ~ key and type kt #, # being the one beside their name. Everyone who agrees shoud just type in console "kt #" It will say the number in yellow on your screen.

I say kt # cause a teamkick only requires the affected team to vote and you wont need as many votes.

There are tons of other console commands but just wanna concentrate on the important one, ridding your game of team killers.

Hope it helps.

Shouldn't you type kt# not tk# for a team kick?

Yep. I was using the phrase tk'er before I wrote that and it stuck. I edited post. Thanks.

u have some misinformation in your post.

yes u should use kt # to start the vote.

no other players shouldn't use kick # to vote on that vote. they also should use kt #.

kick and kt are two different voting schemes. kick requires 2/3 of the entire server's (both teams) votes to vote someone off.

kt requries 2/3 of just your team's votes.

In nearly all instances you'll want to use kt # to vote players off.

btw, i'll be amazed if this system soaks into enough brains to make it work. while it's easy for smartest 20% of us - the other 80% don't even know how to open the console. unfortunately u need to make a voting system that the dumbest 20% can figure out. not the other way around. cause it's of no use if 80% of the people don't know how to vote.

the only thing the improved ui has going for it is they display the id# on the scoring screen and maybe this will cause folks to inquire about that number and from there, learn how to vote. course then folks have to figure out the difference between the kick and kt commands.

Another edit

I liked the one RTCW had. Just press f1 or f2 for a yes or no. They can bind f2 f5 for requesting air support, why cant they bind the existing yes and no F keys to also substitute for voting or something.

Cmon dice, throw us a friken bone here. Coming up on a year since release here. Just make it so who wants to start vote uses the console and everyone else uses f keys. I am not a programmer but I know that someone on these boards would do it in a day with the SDK.

Right. If you say use kt 16 and someone responds with kick 16. That person just basically started another vote on that person. Is this the case?

EA/DICE should have a requirement that you pass a booting test before u can plan online. they should have it so the first time you go to play online you go thru a tutorial and they have you do a demonstration of kicking. annoying when someone doesnt know where ` is.

I also have noticed that people are starting these more, but not voting.

I hopped in a vehicle on Bridge Ruins and took off in a hurry for the flag by the bridge and in doing so I ran over two people that popped out from the hut. I apologized and continued on (nothing you do at that point). One of them started a vote against me, I think they did the "kick #" , because it said something like "1 of 32 need".
I won't vote a player off from the other team unless I witness TKing myself.

Why dont they just do it like they have it in half life? It comes up on the screen and asks you

"Kick Complete_idiot?"

1. Yes
2. No.

Something like that anyway, but you have to press either 1 or 2 to make it go, and so every1 has to vote. Simple and effective. What do we get from dice? Complicated and hopeless. Sure, its easier, and i have seen it being used alot now we have the 1.4 patch. But it could be made better for the people who have never heard of the console.

^^^Yep, boggles my mind as well. I mean, once somone comes up with a way that works and is perfect, why dont game makers just adopt it.

Its like in counterstrike some local servers had that mod, where who you killed and how much damage you got them and all these other stats came up, as well as a voice telling you how much time left on the bomb. Of corse, it was taken off, as people are complaining bitches. Game comunitys frustrate me to no end, really really pisses me off. This place is cool, but its not the real comunity. People are so selfish and spitefull, and everything is just an alpha male competition.

But looking at this from another direction already even at the current substandard way the voting is implemented. At least once an hour of bf playing, i'm annoyed by someone who does know the vote commands. You know the person who wont stop starting votes. over and over, kick this person, or more common, change map, for the entire map just because one selfish bugger doesnt like the current map......twich twich....

Still even sending a Y or N in main chat like vietcong would work obviously its something Dice hasnt felt much pressure to look into. Although limiting individuals to starting 1 vote per 5min would be nice.

Im asuming they do what they do in other games. When somone tks you, you type forgive and they dont lose a point. If you know it was intentional, you type punish which probably kills them and gives them a huge respawn time.

Once i accidently bombed a flag with tonnes of my team mates. I didnt respawn for ages.
