BF1942: Secret Weapons Ships - 03 September 2003 07:30 - John [JCal] Callaham User Comments : 1
This press release from Electronic Arts announces that Battlefield: 1942: Secret Weapons, the second expansion pack to Digital Illusions's hit WWII multiplayer shooter, is now shipping to stores P.S. It would be nice if Dice @ EA did the Korean War W/Migs and saber Jets flying around ![]() |

I don't think Korea is likely, in most people's minds it was an air war, and that's not generally the focus of the BF series. It's a little close in content to Battlefield: Vietnam too.
I wouldn't be surprised if the next expansion pack is a modern add on to Battlefield: Vietnam, perhaps focussing on a near-future time period. |

Korea is it. There's already EOD and that'll probably mean nobody will bother with BFV. Why pay when you can get something for free that's been properly beta tested?
Korea has some jets, but slow ones. It has WWII weapons. It isn't anything like Vietnam (no jungle for one). It's a lot like WWII but with some jets. Mig15s are much more like BF planes than Mig29s or whatever DC has (or even Natters and such bull). Mustangs are almost as fast as the slower jets. Korea would be the perfect mod. BFv? No thanks. BF1952? I'd pay money for that. Air war? I don't think so. It might be the popular image, but it was much more than that. |

i'm not sure who you're talking to or where you're getting you info. right off the top of my head, i can think of three battles... The Pusan Perimeter The Inchon Landing The Chosin Reservoir dig a little further, you could have maps with Seoul, Porkchop Hill and Heartbreak Ridge. i bet you could *easily* come up with at least eight maps. a BF1942 Korea Mod could be *way* cool. ... and if you asked a modder nicely, i'm sure they'd make a MiG alley for ya too, morat.
