Default wrong version error! help! seriously! no, for real!

when i hit multiplay, then select a server, i get an error message that says: wrong version, do you want to update? And if i hit ok it takes me to the ea site. I have 1.45, i've tried to reinstall, then reinstall and use the patch, then reinstall then use the full 1.45 upgrade, etc.

Signed,

Go to RUN under the start menu and type in REGEDIT, and go down to the EA folder. And delete it!!!........now restart ur comp. and reinstall BF and before you play go to www.fileplanet.com and get it......If that doesnt work tell me I have another idea
