I am running:
GeForce 4400 Ti If I right click the game icon and turn on "256 colors" & "640x480" then the game will start, give me a black screen then exit to windows I tried new 3D drivers, tried old 3D drivers and I still have the same issue. If I normally try to run the game, I get the hour glass for a second then nothing happens. I pulled up the "task manager" to see if the program was actually active when I was trying to open it and it appears that the program didn't even run for the split second I saw the hour glass. Did anyone else ever have this issue, you click the icon and nothing happens, at all? I also re-installed the game. |

Go to your BF1942 folder, doubleclick mods, doubleclick BF1942, doubleclick settings, and open your defaultvideo.con file with a text editor such as Notepad. Change the render.allowAllRefreshRates from 0 to 1, save it and go play! ![]() Be advised that you must do this EVERY TIME you install a patch or upgrade. For some reason, Dice choses to reset this value to 0 with every patch. Sorry for the dealy in responding to this, but I just saw it for the first time this morning.

It lets you override the WinXP default 60fps lock. You can set your refresh rate to whatever your monitor can handle for each resolution. I have all of mine locked at 100Hz. No more restrictions in games.
