Default It just happens TO often.

I get the feeling that i must have been pumping an enemy full of lead before he even gets a shot at me, still he fires and kills me from full health in a matter of a second. Many times I think of cheats and get annoyed and so on and then I come to think of when I play Halo:

When I play Halo on my XBox (4 persons) I get killed over and over again even if my "feeling" says I should be the winner in the battle. And in Xbox playing with friends(my Xbox) there is no excuse. There Are no cheats in this kind of playing. So I guess I have to learn to cope with the fact that I am by no means objective when I judge the outcome of a "duel".So, from now on, I promise that I won´t start to judge people for cheating if I have no proof.

For the one-thousanth time, this is because of shitty BF1942 netcode and hit prediction, not cheating.

Wanna know the biggest problem in BF1942 pubs today? It's the number of paranoid fools that think everyone better than them is cheating. "BS", "Haxor", "NO WAY", "1 shell???" .. crap like that. Guys at high skill levels have to put up with these BS accusations every round of every pub server that we play on.

yeah...kind of reminds me of what happened as I was playing last night. I was an engie with my pistol out and turned to see someone rushing me (assault?) He was practically on top of me and I just turned and fired in an instintive motion. One shot, one kill. I be he was pissed.

I don't totally buy that. How do we know it has "shitty netcode"??? What is that knowledge based on? If it so bad how come I can be sooo accurate with a sniper rifle? How come I aim I shoot and I kill? It seems to be too consistent to be occasionally inconsistent. I have been accused of cheating b4 as well and yes I am very good. But it surely doesn't mean that there are not plenty of cheaters out there just because you get accused of it. When ppl get tracked down in remote areas of the map and get bombed ya have to know that something is not right. Yes there are plenty of oversensitive ppl around too who just are not that great but every person who brings it up is not just whining...some have legitimate beefs.

Yeah!!! Like this one guy!

He TOTALLY cheated! He snuck up right BEHIND me, and like, stabbed me with this freaking thing called a KNIFE!!

BULLSHIT MAN!!! TOTAL HACKER!!!!

X_X

:P

No, but I can see your point. I don't really think that cheating is as widespread as it appears by the amount of times that word is thrown around in your average pub server.

I've been called a cheater a couple of times, simply because I was having a stroke of good luck, and getting a good run of kills. Not because I was cheating, but more because I got lucky, and the enemy team wasn't paying attention enough (stealing enemy kits can be advantageous when they don't bother to notice you have a blue name tag instead of a red one ).

Yes there are cheats for this game . that do infact work on multyplaye servers! I have tested them myself with my roomate, on a server hosted on one of our other comps. only found a couple different ones to test though. but for the most part they worked unfortunately! I have not and will not ever use them in a public game. I only wanted to see if they actually worked.

If you suck, go play Single-Player. In over 1 year of Battlefield 1942 I have yet to find a enemy who I was convinced of cheating.

BF dosn´t have the best netcode and neither is the sniper-rifle 100% accurate. Thats why DICE put in the crosshair indicator to confirm a hit. There might be cheaters out there, but I havn´t yet met one and if I had, I still could kill him...

dang, i think i finally saw a cheater. he was a sniper in that windmill, in the middle of bocage, and whenever you would go near the entrance, he would throw grenades down from near the ammo box, and make an impassable wall of explosions. and when you went far enough away, he would be convinced you werent trying to get him, and stop. pry some kinda radar thingie. other people said they noticed it too. he was a good sniper too, but i dont think he was cheating for that part.

You can see a person's shadow as they near the entrance to the windmill. Its hard to kill a person doing that. I actually do that a lot as and engineer, dropping expacks below and waiting for someone to enter. Its a good way to cover your sniper teamates inside the windmill. Very effective and almost impossible to counteract.

Edit: Btw, it too not to.

The main cheats used are the mini-map and name-tags!
With either one a player can tell where all players are located.

in war, the most effective aspect of the antipersonnel/antitank mine:

Psychological effects.
the soldiers get lower morale, they move through the terrain at a sloiwer pace, and are generally more jumpy.

in BF1942, the most taxing side effect of the idiot "hackers":

Psychological effects.
the users are loathe the "hackers" who sometimes run rampant, but most of the anger is misdirected toward other legitimate players. some people quit beause of the "hacking", or become "hackers" themselves.

I played R.S/Urban operations till I was scaring myself at the shots I was making, and that game had the worst "netcode" by far, and you could account for it. BF is'nt nearly as bad, and can only account for some of the shinanigans I've seen.

I do believe the programming is not perfect (what a leap :/ ). Think of the times you survive attacks and have no idea how you made it out alive. That could be happening to the very person your trying to kill, the one that just does'nt seem to go down.

I rarely accuse or boot. Only when no other explanation is possible. Or when the cheating is so obviously blatant that only a fool would think it was skill. The aiming/flying physics of BF simple don't allow for some of the things I see on a regular basis in public rooms.

Some people get much more frustrated then others. I'm one of the ones that get's frustrated. But as I said before, I refrain from accusations, and booting, because it only adds to the poor atmosphere. And you could be accusing a highly skilled player.

I do find from my days of playing all kinds of FPS's, that cheaters inherently will get defensive and belligerant when accused. Truely highly skilled players will say less derogatory things, though they rarely try and prove their innocence to the accusations, they tend to be more level headed when accused.

I find cheating dispicable because of the lack of repercussions, and risk the cheater is taking. At least a cheater of cards, risks confrontation and possible physical violence. Or a cheater in golf risks his reputation and personal shame.

Cheaters are like the boss that's an asshole. Big deal. How hard is it to be an asshole when your the boss anyway? Be the co-worker who's an asshole, now that takes nuggets. Cheaters are obviosly people of little to no character, who's lives are so empty that they need the satifaction of dominance in a game, to justify their mediocre and pointless lives.

Multi-player games rely on trust and honor to make them enjoyable and competitive, it's this flagrant abuse of other peoples good nature that infuriates me. Not the losing or dieing.
