Default Getting closer to quit playing.

WARNING! This is whining-thread!

But I have to say this to get it of my chest. The day that I will get more annoyed than happy when playing BF 1942 has really starting to draw nearer and nearer. It´s not the game itself which I think is good it´s the behaviour of many people playing that freaks me out. Like for the last 30 minuites I find myself switching team every 3 minuite or so. I know autoteam is a must to keep the teams even, but it´s a shame that people don´t hang in there just because their team is not doing well. If u know u don´t have time to finish a round, Don´t enter at all. Of course it´s ok to leave mid-game sometimes, but some people seem just not to bother and do it ALL THE TIME when their team is not doing well. This leaves the ones behind jumping back and forth between teams OR being outnumbered.

Also, many players just don´t seem to manage to do more than shoot straight ahead. TIP! Try to look to the top right corner of your screen sometimes. It can give a hint if there are friendly units around that might get hurt by your "panicshooting".

Well, I try to hang in as I love this game when playing with decent folks. But when playing on servers where there seem to be one decent bloke on every 20 morons, I just start to begin loosing faith in mankind.

well yoining a clan is a good idea, you tend to get more organised teamwork when playing with them.

Guess u are right there, I am starting to search around a bit for a clan of nice people from Sweden, Scandinavia. I don´t really care if they are ubergood in playing as long as they are "team-minded" and don´t run around abusing folks over and over.

I've noticed a bit of the same as of late! I know when I'm playing I really dont care if i'm on the winning team, I just enjoy playing. if were getting behind I just try a little harder to get a few flags!!

That´s the spirit. That is what i mean with a "good player". Not one that can´t stand if his team loose and decide to quit mid-game.

When I join a server, I usually go to the team that's losing. But I got DC just so I could play the =RAV= server. Almost purely smacktard free. I've only had one problem there, and it was because no =RAV= guys were there. But for the most part it rocks.

i've had hell with my ancient p.o.s. comp so i reformatted.
been just playing vanilla Bf'42 and i've fallen back in love with those early maps. expecially the pacific maps, they're still the best...classic.
surprised at the numbers of people playing those "dead" servers too.
EA and EAUK have been awesome to play on again.
tk'rs are there, but so are more of us who votekick.

still the best game i've ever played.

I've had this idea of "secure servers" for a while. It seems like GameSpy is releasing their own Founder's Club servers but that isn't necessarily keeping idiots out.

Unfortunately T3 lines and the like cost's are the size of an elephant shit. If there's the support for it I don't mind getting some good connection to run password protected servers that only we (people who support the cause) can join. I won't need to heavily admin it because anyone who acts like a dumbass would be reported by about half the players and then they get the ban of doom!!! I don't mind getting a system for running Battlefield 1942, even though it's around $250 it's a good system for anyone to use in the end. I already have a crappy 1.8ghz Celeron that could run one or two Half-Life mods and I may have an 866mhz computer available soon. It really comes down to if people would be willing to pay $5 or so a month for the cost of the connection. You'd get a bunch of different games to play and it's nicely admined. Just look at how much MMORPGs cost and tell me that's a bad deal.

I'd love to do this if there's enough people who would support it (PM me if interested). I guess I can always dream though.
