i just found my two discs of battlefield 1942
. however when i try to install cd 1 i get an error that reads: ''specified component cannot be read from the named media '' then it quits installation . could someone please help me out, id appreciate it, thanks. ![]() |

I'm getting the same thing with disk two. I just read another thread that had EA's solutions, but none of them worked for me. I inquired about this problem twice, but EA has not responded. Apparently, they have a standard form they send out. I believe the thread is on page 6 or 7.
Everyone is blaming it on disk damage, but that is not the case.

For some reason if you lose discs they tend to lose reliability. You said you just 'found' them somewhere right? Well, did BF work alright before?
