Default What will you run on?

I have just purchased a new computer, 2GHz, 256 Mb RAM, and GeForce 4 card along with a cable modem will be able to handle the game but I want to set up a personal LAN with my older computer, 700MHz, 128Mb RAM, and only a 32Mb ATI something or other( i can never remember). I dont know if my older one will be able to handle it. If Jakal or someone else who has played already know what kind of specs you were working off of would be helpful. Other wise there is no reason to keep the old computer.

I'm also curious to what everone else will run on, windows verson, different graphics cards and the whole kit and kaboodle?

Default Where I got it

Well, I bought it at databutikken.com/no.
$555 is when I count 1$ to equal 9 NOK, wich is probably wrong.
I think that 1$ = 7.7 NOK (We have a very strong currency nowadays), and that translates into that my pc cost. 5000 NOK, or 650 USD.

It's cheap anyway

to run the game you wont need much, a geforce 2 should run it fine, but not at a high resolution. Processor speed wont need to be that high a 700hmz should work ok!

As for buyiong PC's, none of u ever heard about building your own?

Ofcourse, I wouldn't get a pc like the one I bought for 650$ if it were some dell or compaq........

But I must say that some hardware webshops have some pretty good offers on pc's they've put together.....

Self built is best :P

I did research for building my own pc and all the parts and shipping for all the parts for everything i wanted ended up being only 50 less, and ill gladly pay an extra 50 for having a pc already built. plus this discussion is getting way off topic.

Vel, jeg kjøpte den hos www.databutikken.com/no
Se: http://home.no.net/discgolf/nypc.GIF

Den er ultra value, derfor den er så belli
Husk at prisene varierer veldig, hvis du sjekker der nå har de kanskje gåttt opp, eller ned (logisk).

Mvh Johan

When my ti4200 is outdatet, so Is your ti4600, the performance difference is only about 20%. It's like comparing a tnt2 with a tnt2 ultra, you won't be able to tell the difference, they both suck

But, It's some time until well get outdated ain't it

i got the 4600 for the heigher internal clock speed and processing bandwidth, but when it comes down to it your right they are very compairable. My only reason to go all out was so that i could play BF with full graphics and see it in all of its glory with out having to sacrifice gameplay

Default My ok comp

I've got an amd 1900+, 512 ddr and a geforce ti-500. I am sure BF42 will run smoothly and look good, as all games i have played with this computer have.

I got the most bang for my buck because i dont want any suprizes when it is releaced because I'll have all the mods and maps and skins you could think of. I'm not sure if DICE is allowing thirdparty skins and vehicles, because if they are I could come up with some great stuff and I'll need processing power.

It's possible that you got "most bang for YOUR buck", but when it comes down to bf, prosessing power it not the key factor to smooth gameplay, it's the gfx card.

I think we have more than enough prosessing power, and that it's our gfx cards that the game depends on. And wich will be the "bottleneck" in future games, before the prosessor.

Im not sure though
