PLEASE HELP WHEN TRYING TO RUN MOD IT CRASHES TO DESKTOP

When I try to run A battlefield 1942 mod it crashes to the desktop when it loads. When I try to do single player for a mod I get regular BF1942 instead of the mod. Can someone help me out? Do I need to have the Road to Rome expansion?

I have exactly the same problem. Have both Desert Combat and Galactic Conquest and both get as far as where you have to select a spawn and then crashes to desktop with error sound but no message!

I can play BF1942 fine with no probs, can't figure out why the MODs would be any different!

My specs are:

Athlon XP 3000+
512 Mb DDR RAM
120Mb HDD
NForce 2 mobo and sound
Geforce FX 5600 256Mb Grafix card

Can anyone help?

have you updated to 1.45 yet. The GC mod has a new update also, use this one with the installer it works better. http://www.galactic-conquest.net/index01c.php

Texas Nightmare - I have indeed updated to 1.45 and updated Desert Combat to 0.39 but it did exactly the same!

Not tried updating GC as of yet (am at work) but will give it a go later, when I get home.

Any more suggestions?
