Default I FIXED CRASH TO DESKTOP/REBOOTING PROB EVERYONE READ THIS!!

CLICK THIS LINK http://www.aoaforums.com/files/code.php?file=712 and you can find a brief description of the patch here http://www.warp2search.net/article.php?sid=7916 when you download it just click the setup.bat to install.
Via chipsets and geforce4: Seem to be unstable....hopefully this will work for you...worked for me. see the game would usually crash to desktop or reboot itself within 5-10 seconds. and after i installed the VIA Latency Pack i left the game on for 15 min and IT DIDNT REBOOT OR CRASH TO THE DESKTOP AT ALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i had to post the link to the via latency pack though just so all of you could download it. cause im cool. lol anyway. now i just have to figure out how to make the graphics from being all white and shitty. im so fuckin happy right now!!!!!!!!!!! hopefully this is the end of the dreaded CRASH TO DESKTOP!!!!!!!! please let me know if this solves your crash to desktop/rebooting problem.

*easy on the smilies*
WOOT!!!!!!!

Yes , it works!!!

I got bf1942 for xmas and wasted 2 weeks trying to get it to go.I ctd after 10 sec's or so.Once I got to play for 2 minutes before i fired a rocket and it crashed..I just gave up.
Yesterday I thought id try the forums to see whats new and went straight to this post.Tryed it and it works.!!!!
I tried all those tricks mentioned before to no avail.
My spec's :
98se , Atholon 1.4 Ghz on via sl-75kav soltek (KT-133A?) m/b , Geforce 2MX400 , 512Mb ram.
I hope this works for others.I still want to throttle EA for putting out a faulty product.
Guess what im gonna play today!!!!!

Default fix for the crackling sound...

hi everyone...again. just wanted to put up some links to some other latency patches from the same maker of the one i posted up there ealier. http://www.georgebreese.com/net/software/ this link is for his site where you can download various other versions of the pci latency patch. my sound card after i installed the one in the other post made my creative labs pci 128 sound card sound like a screeching/crackling sound...which i couldnt stand...i couldnt listen to any music...and sound would only work when i would play games...which was sucky. SO... i tried alot of the different versions of the patch and...finally the last beta version 0.20b19 worked.i still cant believe i found one that actually works on my computer with my creative labs pci 128 sound card. No more crackling sound now....and i can still play games that use direct 3d as well!! no more rebooting or crackling sound. if you have the same type of sound card and have the crackling problem let me know if the 0.20b19 patch worked.
