is there gonna be an m1 in this game...all reports and sites i have seen dont show it....it was a beautiful gun and any ww2 game shouldnt leave out THE RIFLE THAT WON THE WAR...it is an injustice to the 65% of americans who won the war with that gun.

He's refering to either the m1 garand or the m1 carabine.
As far as I know it won't be in. All the rifles I've seen in BF were bolt action ones.

From what I heard they left out the M1 rifle because it was semi automatic and the they said the Japs or maybe it was the russians who only had bolt actions and they did not want one to have an unfair advantage.

the m1 isn't that good of a gun, it's not that powerful, not that accurate, not that much anything, so what if it's a semi-automatic. Now the Mauser 98k, that's a good gun. Has everything the m1 doesn't. See rifles are for medium and long range combat, if your fighting close in use a thompson, or bar, or any number of smg's, at medium and long range i want a gun thats accurate, and powerful, kill someone with one shot to the torso. Something interesting though, you wouldn't believe how much they underestimate the sound a rifle makes when it fies it the movies. I've shot a mauser and i must say i had earplugs and it was still deafening. I also wore a very heavy winter coat and it still had enough kick that it hurt. Thinking what a rifle sounds like, im not sure if my eardrums could survive hearing a tank cannon fire

According to the list the allies get the Enfield Mk. 4 in .303... they should however have the Garand, it was standard issue for U.S. troops.... Probably evening playing field by giving both side bolt-action rifles

Are you on crack? The M1 Garand was not to be issued if it could not hit a target that was 200 meters away. The M1 Garand was also proven to hit a quarter from 100 yards away. The M1 is THE best implement of war back in the day. Please refrain from saying somthing you know nothing about. And what you said about the BAR, It was used as an Machine Gun in WWI. It had a bipod and everything. The BAR was made specically for medium to long range shots. |

listen pal i do know a lot about m1's, i've shot them, i've shot comparable bolt actions, the bolt actions ARE more accurate, testament to why they almost ALWAYS used bolts for sniper rifles, and DEFINITELY more powerful, the mauser uses 8mm, the m1 ammo is smaller than that and has a smaller shell casing, i'm not just some idiot making this all up, the only advantage the m1 had was rate of fire, and it may be accurate to you, but it doesn't compare with bolt actions

and about bar's? well you obviously have never shot one, although neither have i, but it seems that the thought of RECOIL never entered your head, you cannot fire a machine gun accurately at long range, even an m16, while firing at an automatic rate, maybe with decent accuracy at medium range, but a bar, unless single shot, at long range? not a smart thing, i personally think the worse thing about the bar, normally a great gun, was it's 20 round clip, definitely sub standard for a machine gun, i'm not saying the m1 wasn't used well in world war 2, i'm just saying for accurate powerful shots, which i prefer, you should take a bolt, if you want to be able to shoot fast, the m1 is much better, especially because it has admirable if not excellent accuracy and power at long and medium ranges, at close range, when you need to fire faster, it's even better, but for those of us who like a practical gurantee of a kill with a chest shot, the bolt, especially the mauser, is the way to go. honestly, the germans had better everything, better guns, if you like bolts, better tanks (please don't deny it, the sherman was a wimp, even the battlefield 1942 faq reveals it, it was just fast), better trained troops (please don't deny that, russians were said, french were the biggest wimps ever, english and americans were pretty good, as were people like the polish etc.) i personally think onpar or better generals (i think rommel had to be the best general of the war), some might say better pilots, i'm not necessarily agreeing, the only thing of theirs that sucked, was hitler, and their navy
, oh yah forgot to mention great subs, the fact is from the holy roman empire, onwards, germany has always had the most effective army ever, except for america, who was probably onpar with most stuff, and way ahead in supply, which was germany's downfall, so please before you call other people unknowledgeable idiots, think a little |
