-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The release date pushback was necessary because germany decided that certain instances of Nazi symbolism were too prevalent in the game...therefore they wanted them removed for the European version. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- When I read this I became really sad. I thought BF would be every thing a WWII game where supposed to. I hope some smart pepole makes a patch so the german get's it's symbol's. |

I think it's all a bunch of BS! This game is about war between two sides and each side should be represented accurately (even though this game sucks at representing respective armament). Taking the swastika out of the game will not make the atrocities of the past disappear. It's just like the assheaded decision not to include violence in a war game! I wish those people who make those decisions would pull their pacifiers out of their mouth and have the balls to make this game what it should be...

Could someone post a factual link to the news article.
Everyone appears to have read it on another forum. And so....wheres the link to the proposed news article. I've seen each one of these discussions turn into a nationality flame war within 20 posts. Lets try and get facts before we make decisions to say anything. please. richcz3 |

Its got nout to do with national clashes,
Unless the maps are covering a battle in which only the wehrmacht (or whatever the Nazi divisions were) the german army flag is the cross, not a bloody swastika. If theres a swastika in game I want Yellow Submarines & Nice Turquiose trousers for the Yanks. ohh & can the grenades be banananas plz. Or would that just be stupid?? |

OK, has any of this ACTAULLY been confirmed outside of that forum.... because on no other BF stie that i have visited (including the official site) no mention of this has been made. Like some other guy said... EA has already been through the same thing with Medal of Honor, and I think they know what is legal and what isn't, and plus, how log has the game been in development??? I think the Germans would have already noticed!

on bf1942.com, there was a better link. www.swastika.com , it is kinda crazy, but it gives "theoretical" info and the real history of the swastika

ok i got an idea. how about ea changes the flag for the sold product. But make a skin modification available for download so that u can replace the german flag with nazi flag. That way whoever doesnt want to have it in the game just doesnt need to download it. And whoever does want it in the game WILL download it. I would download it. I want to keep all realism inside the game or at least the historical part. Remember this is just my opinion and i think its a really good idea for ea to consider it. May someone who has personal contacts or something close to it let EA know if my idea. This could really help out the people who would like the flag to stay and help the germans keep it out also.

or, better yet, they could have a littel menu before the game , and instead aor having the usual question, "DO you want blood? yes or no" have it something like "Historically Accurate Sights yes or no", and but since nothing to do with nazi'sis allowed in germany, whats the point?

What's the point of making a WW2 game that doesn't even represent the players in that war????? Why not just creat fictional characters, nations, etc.... How about Spaj's, Sima's, Izan's, Der's (read those backwards).
Will EA or other saps someday make a game about another war and omit factual information/images/data that rubs a small number of people the wrong way? (There are over 6 BILLION people on the planet - I cannot believe that a small group of people - whoever they are - can in all honestly state that they represent the interests of all!!!) Political correctness can only go so far before everyone's scared to say "moo" without offending a cow!. Gimme a break |
